Thanks. We hope he's just enjoying someone else's hospitality, but we are going to put up posters around the area, and have already told our vet, let the chip people know, been out at 4am calling his name etc etc.

Best of luck finding the moggie. They normally don't wander that far, so is probably shut away somewhere local - have you tried all the neighbours and checked their gardens etc. (in fact, why am I saying this, you will have tried all of that), but fingers and paws crossed anyway.

Putting up posters really can work!
\my cat toshio disappeared in birmingham a few years ago and i postered wildly in the increasing concentric circles around my house for a week.
I had loads of calls that slowly zero'd me in on him, it was like some crazy episode of 24.
I had a good little weep when someone called up saying they had him.
I bought a whole M and S chicken (i'm vegeteratian) after picking him up and lay on the floor (he was ultra knackered) hand feeding him strips of meat until he was bloated and feel asleep.Really hope you find him!

We were looking after a lost dog for the vet and found the owners via a poster so +1 on postering.

Might be worth putting a bigger photo up (not just a head shot I mean). Would be easier for locals to spot at a glance. Does he have any identifying marks or collar? Good luck. :)

Collared, chipped & I think Anna has used a colour shot for the flier / poster.#
Thanks for the kind words, everybody.

Mine went missing for about 10 days when I lived in Dalston. We put up some posters, and someone called - he'd leapt along window ledges and got into a posh place about 6 doors down the street. The grumpy old bastard still felt obliged to take the £20 reward (I was obviously struggling on the dole), so I didn't try to hard to stop Elmore knocking over some expensive looking ornaments as I tried to get him the fuck out of there.
He'll be holding up better than you probably. I was a mess when Elmore went AWOL, but he seemed unmoved by the whole experience :D
Hope the situation's resolved soon.

whats always worked for me (not that my cat runs away alot)
but make a familiar noise, be it the back door shutting, cat flap etc. and record it, and then play it back.
it sound odd, but ive found my kitten twice doing it -

Hope he's just being a bastard cat and you get him back soon Bill.

Keeping my eyes pealed, Bill. Let us know if there's anything we can do (search party?)

Posters do work. My ex g/f got a cat back after several weeks when someone spotted the poster and admitted they'd been feeding what they thought was a stray cat for all that time.
Good luck with the search.

Good luck with missing moggy. A neighbours went missing for over three weeks and turned up safe and well, if a little skinny.

Apparently, sprinklng vacuum cleaner dust on your street / garden can help moggies find the way home.
This sounds a bit crazy, but I would do probably try it anyway.Good luck!
Oscar has been missing since Saturday night. His home on the canal by Kingsland Road. If you see him, please try and retain him, and call me
07896 421 556.
He is dearly loved and very much missed.
Thanks in advance for any help.
