  • 3 player game the elks play and we (MAT&Zactch) played a bit last night.

Name: D-Up, first to 3 points

Aim of the game is to save goals and get to 3 (5 or what ever you want to set as the target) only the keeper can score points.

The two attackers must score a goal to become the keeper.... every save scores a point (wheels included), misses and cone connections dont count for anything.

The attacker scores he/she deducts a point off the keeper.

Foot downs apply, to tap out you go round the back of the goal.

Possession goes to the scored on after a goal.

Essentially its a good drill teaches you to not give up possession, d-up, only shoot when you are certain to score and obviously keep.

    Any other games?

  • this thread is dead without pictures

  • Bottom Brackets is great practice too.

  • I like playing with myself.

  • yeah how does bb game go? its open court init and you just shoot.... no shuffles or ball joints allowed?

  • sorry

2 + players, score by shooting under another players BB. Up to you if passing under your own BB is allowed.

  • we really need to sort out that rotating game thingy... when theres 5 players... cos it just doesnt make sense.

  • indeed, the tactic is be be shit until you're on your own, then score, then you win by being shit till the last minute.

  • we really need to sort out that rotating game thingy... when theres 5 players... cos it just doesnt make sense.

It's brilliant, especially when it's down to me vs 4, and I score!

    Hahahaha!

    Losers.

  • Bill, that has happen once.

Bill preys on the hungover/sleep deprived.

we call this throughsy wheelsies, used to play it loads more than we do now, good warm up, especially when theirs not enoguh for a game. 3 lives each, every time it goes under youor BB you lose a life

    Bill preys on the hungover.

Err. I think you'll find I have done at least 3 times.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

    Massive losers!!!

  • Bill prays not be hungover/sleep deprived. But there isn't a God, so he's wasting his time

    There isn't a god?

I thought we solved that one... the scoring player choses one of his/her team to join the other side... if you score when you're on your own, you win.

    (Still encourages selfish play though.)

  • ha.

  • the cone game is stupid... fucks with your head.

    Good variant.

  • i enjoyed the BB footdown thing we played in Barca. Good fun for when there are loads of people. Maybe play it at the next tap-out

  • The cone game is great if you're still drunk from the night before...

  • I rule at the cone game.

i missed the bb footdown game d"drop it"t?? i think we were eating pizza.

  • Yep you missed it Ray - it wasn't just a case of just passing it through the BB though, you had to control the ball afterwards too

yeah, didn't like that bit - just passing through the BB would have been best IMO

  • 1 on 1 Cone Game

Todd and I have played this a few times down Broadway.

    Aim of game:
First to score set number of points by shooting ball against opponents cone.

    Set up:
Depending on court size, play half court. 1 cone placed in middle of each end. Ball placed in center of court. Normal 3,2,1 POLO charge applies. Players can only score on the business end of mallet against opponents cone. Once scored on, scoring player must tap their cone before game can restart. Foot downs apply, player has to go behind their own cone to get back in game.

    Benifit of game:
    Good practice for...
    a) 1 on 1 tackling, passing and shot blocking
    b) accurate shooting
    c) bike control in tight play area
    d) passing the time till other players turn up

It's surprising how fun and competitive this game can become.

  • sounds good Matt.

    Ray, I need a sketch
