Is this assuming the teams will have to stay as their same line-up and that the 6 top placed teams actually can go, if not, the 7th team can etc...

Good question.

I would say that 2 of 3 team members must be the same. But that's just my opinion.

I agree. But I sense another poll coming on... :-)

At the UK champs, the top 8 will progress to the eliminations. Of these 8, how do you decide the top 6?
4 teams will get knocked out in the semis, of those which 2 make up the 6?
What happens if the teams ranked 7 + 8 end up contesting the final?
Tricky... -

^Uh oh... also, if it's single elim. there's loads of room for a bike failure (or similar) to ruin your chances of going to the worlds.

Tricky...Top 6 from the top 8, before the quarters?

Yes, tricky, but it can be worked out. I would suggest
Top 4 (that play in Semi's)
and best performing of the 4 that get knocked out in the quarters.

Tricky...Usually ranked by performance. Goal difference and such...

Its not single elimination, each team gets 4 games regardless of wins or losses. Surely the 4 spots that arnt decided by 1st and 2nd could be done by wins/losses + goal difference? or is this too small a factor to decide?

Of the 4 that don't get through to 1/4 finals, the best 2 ranked from qualifying? Or do we include the 1/8 results?

More polls.

Taking the results from the circle seems very unfair as the teams have been seeded to avoid early competitive play? The quarter finalists and then the next best 2 from the circle doesn't seem as bad though.

results should be based on performance in the finals (8 team single elim) as Mike described I think. Not based on the circle.
-
• #21
We will have only one game on which to rank these 4 teams. So it'll be goals scored and goal difference in some combination, as all 4 will have lost.
-
• #22
goal difference is a shit means of determination, especially in a random group format. the 4 teams that lose on sunday should play each other for the final spots, random draw, 2 games, winners in, losers out. it's only an extra 2 games. if it's a double elim bracket, the top 6 are apparent.

good call josh
If 'Yes', then the UK champs results will decide who plays as the 6 UK teams.
If 'No' then we have to discuss and vote on an alternative selection process, whatever that may be.
