hi, do you know what year the frame is from?
what is the top tube length?
does it take a 1" or 1 1/8th headset?thanks
-
• #8
Thank you for the kind words
Both seattube and toptube measure 56cm center to center
It does thake a 1" headset
Rear end spacing is 130mm
I would think the frame dates from somewhere around 1990, but these Vitus' were made quite some period. I think from early 80s on to somewhere in the 90s. This makes period correct component selection a little easier.

Sale is of frame only, but...
you need a fork with it?
No problem.
That can be solved quite easily.
I do have a bonded aluminum Koga-Miyata FullPro fork available. 1991 model and new old stock. The best stuff you could possibly have. It looks very good, is well made, light, stable an safe. It is partly painted though, so it needs to be stripped and polished. Once done you will have a hard time noticing it is not a Vitus.
The NOS Miyata fork is one like this one -->
Spot the differences with the original -->
With the Vitus the fork can be acquired for an additional 20 GBP. So 145 GBP for everything including shipping.

Hi TomBurtonArt,
I had a couple. Now one left, but I will preserve that one for my own collection.
What is also left is a similar Koga, but with carbon tubing in front triangle >>
This is NOS stuff. Very light.

Im looking for a 56 cm racing frame, myself.........
Offering very nice 979 frame in 56cm size
Very interesting and light glued aluminium construction. Internal routing for rear brake cable. Seatpost fixation through setscrew(not included). It has Jan Janssen decals as in Holland Vitus was carried under the Jan Janssen brand. The person behind it, Jan Janssen, were winner of the 1968 TdF.
Frame is in very nice shape. Hardly a sign of use. A couple imperfections in decals are actually the only thing worth mentioning.
There is no fork, as it donated its to my Vitus FCK9(carbon-kevlar) project.
Looking for 135 GBP shipped
I will do utmost on packaging. I use foam heating insulation tubing and everything will go into a sturdy bike box.
