Was there a photo? I have the same but I'm not sure if mine are Record or C-Record.
Just wanna see if they have the same spider arrangement. -
• #5
hey max here you go. must admit i forget what the difference is...

Rare engraved and not safe (cause they break at the engraving) early C-Record
Regular laser etched C-Record
Current Record Pista
And hippy's C-Record Road converted to single, with the hidden arm.
Sure we have done this before?

Damn right it's been done before. Thanks for the info though, Guy.
Mine appear to be laser etched C-Record, but what about the standard Record Pista equivalent at the time? Or was it just C-Record then that had the shield?
Did the road versions always have one of the spider arms behind the crank arm?
-
• #9
oh and there's also the njs version, which i've seen in laser etched (no2)

C-Record/Corsa Record is the name of the Record group before the current Record pista group.

Thanks.
Mine have this engraved on the inside of the arms:
170 P [71] 9/16" X 20
-
• #15
it means "make sure you get up in time to go to work tomorrow Max"
-
• #16
Oh, I was under the impression it meant "I have Mondays off"
:)

the NJS version probably has a different thread for the pedals, as the campy NJS pedals dont fit the normal Italian pista cranks
-
• #18
yes, i'm guessing it should have. i have the campy njs pista pedals and they f*ck up the thread of my record pista cranks :-/
crank says 9/16 x 20 F
njs pedal says 9/16 x 20 BSC (can't read the last letter properly)

I know BSC stands for British Standard Cycle thread, so if it's fucking up the crank threads sounds like its not compatible... oops.
I've what I think is 1st gen C-Record cranks on my '84 Colnago roadbike and they have the hidden spider but not engraved, as far as I know all C-Record road cranks have the hidden arm-Hilary has some for sale at an ok price a while back too.

so i'm offering mine for trade in a bit, was thinking of just changing the axles (actually already bought those :-/) but i think it's better to keep the axles and pedals together...
-
• #23
begrudgingly up for sale again at lower price...
-
• #24
Why is the chainring mounted to the back?
-
• #25
sorry it's not actually mounted in that pic, i've just placed the cranks on top to show how it would look roughly
