  • Which are the easiest to use? Do any of them simply have those stick on and bend lever like a mini morph? My Silca Pista has to be forced on, and then forced off, and it is incredibly painful and annoying and I'm looking for something easier. What is the SKS head like, or the Joe Blow? Looked on youtube but cant find any videos of it.

  • I like the joeblow head. It has a little lever to tighten it to the valve. My minipump has the force-on force-off deal and apart from it being a chore to use, the seal tends to wear out eventually rendering your pump useless.

  • Joe Blow Sport

  • So you just put it on, and then twist?

With the Silca you put this on, but once its on, its a complete bitch to get off, esp if you have threaded valves.

  • Joe Blow is the best track pump for the money!

    • on the Joe Blow.
  • What's so hard about the Silca? Push it on, pull it off. Levers are often annoying to lock down when you have short valves and no pressure and have to push the tyre down.

  • I have a Joe Blow as well, great pump.

  • From memory the standard head which came with my RennKompressor was not so good, a presta adaptor which dangled off a chain to be fitted to the schreuder head. I run a disc suitable chuck by Hirame in it now, but the regular shop pumps are Park and Blackburn- no problem with either.

  • I've only ever owned a Beko and it's worked fine for about six years, including being used at a lot of Bike Doctor events. On and off quite easily and has never wrecked a presta valve, even in clumsy hands.

Alas the head is getting a bit worn out and could do with replacing. Not sure where to go for one of these.

Because unless it goes right down, it can make a seal and therefore doesnt work. Once it is right down, its fucking hard to get off, and everytime I smash my hands against the spokes and it is very painful!

And I have to let the tyre down fully to even top of the pressure because I need to put my thumb on the tyre, behind the valve, to hold it so I can force the head on.. the whole process is ludicrous!

  • I can't quite get my head around what you are doing.. but whatever it is.. it's wrong.

    +1

Silca pumps are great. What are you doing that means you can't get the head off?

  • Which one:

I don't go above 120 psi so presumably the former will do...

The max is a good pump as I bought that one for my GF's son and I have a JB Sport myself.

See above, I can't describe it anymore than that.

It has to go way on else no seal, then once on, a total slut to get off.

  • Fuck the system, you don't need to pump your tyres

  • +1 again for the JB sport. Does the job.

  • the joe blow smart head is also good

i have a feeling the op may struggle to pull the head of any pump head off his valve

  • don't get the SKS Rennkompressor with the Shraeder end and Presta adaptor. Mine ceased to be air-tight after a month. better would be the model referred to as having the "Classic" head. is capable of over 200psi.

  • My little brother has been using my track pump as push on pull off and it's a lever system. Meaning he has completely fucked the seal. Unless I have threaded valves, it will not stay on past 60psi. Really really annoying.

So, anyone have any idea where to get new pumpheads for a Wrench Force track pump?

  • Contact the manufacturer and ask about new seals for the head

We've had a rennkompressor on shop floor duty for 9 months. The original tube and schraeder/presta adaptor lasted for about 6 or 7. That's a VERY long time when you factor in 3 or 4 customers using them every hour, and most of the time thoroughly abusing it and using it incorrectly.

The seal on the presta adaptor is adjustable and replacable. The beauty of that unit is that it is infinitely fixable with minimal effort. If the presta seal failed on our pump, it was normally resolved by disassembling it and re-adjusting the fit of the metal outer casing, or simply chucking in a new rubber seal which cost all of 3 pence.

We only had to swap out the end after some retard tore off the entire hose/nozzle and stood on it.
