sadly i dont have any history. i tired to do some research last night but struggled. im sure there must be somone on this forhum that knows allot about eddie merckx.
i could most probably stick some wheels on it if you would like?

Got a friend who has this built up geared, falling apart. He found it in his shed. But its got mudguard eyelets which I thought was a bit odd? fake merckx maybe?

Probably one of the shite ones made in the UK by Falcon, which it has to be said, looked exactly like the one in the pic by the OP.

I've been offered an early 80s Merckx, the lug work looks aight (I've only seen pictures) but can anyone tell me about what year the good name was passed over to Falcon...?
I don't want to end up with a pony f&f!

falcon merckx didnt have columbus tubing campag dropouts and extended interior fork crowns...hilary stone had a slightly higher spec version of this for about 250 the other month.!
120 -about its money. if it fits and you like the trim.
any cutouts on bb lugs etc will tell you for sure.
the european merkxx franchises used the same bulk buy decal firm..a large importer etc on the french coast -

It looks like a well built frame from the 70s.
But SPX/SLX came out early 80s.
Can you take a clear photo of the seat cluster and BB shell?

The Kessels framesets that I know always have straight fork crowns.
