I washed my new Assos in the washing machine in the little bag, 30 minute cycle with delicates detergent. When I emptied the machine, they were no longer in the bag....
The Assos blue stuff is only for handwashing, and I can't be arsed with all that shit.

i have a collection of delicates bags, so that is not a worry
do people put all their lycra in delicates bags or just bibs?
-
• #15
Thx, Mrs Myth.
no probs. with you being an anal left-brainer i thought you might appreciate the details.

Put em in the microwave for 2 mins, kills bacteria

i don't use the bag, but i wash on delicate, with ecover delicate detergent. i wash my dress shirts the same way.

Granny's soap flakes. 30 deg.
Oh, and what does the label say?
-
• #19
Definitely no higher than thirty degrees and on a delicate wash, using ecover or similar.
If you don't have a full load of lycra then handwash your shorts/bibs, jerseys et al can go in the machine on a normal wash (Which I still do at thirty degrees). -

All my cycling kit... ecover delicate soap, 30degs. I use the bag for my Assos bibs, only coz I'd be gutted if they shrunk to half their size and I hadn't.

I do all my stuff at 30 degrees with some woolite. Don't bother with a delicates bag etc.

Mrs Smallfurry is very particular about using the correct programm, and sorting clothes into colour groups.
I just chuck all my sports kit in together, and put it on 'sports wash', which seems logical. The sides of my favourate bibs are now pink :( -
• #23
have always used 30 degree wash and no conditioner
may start to use the delicates bags more often
-
• #24
I'm sure many of the people you meet on your commute would tempted to kick you in your delicates bag.
-
• #25
delicates = soap flakes
normal stuff = washing soda
how do people wash theirs
at the moment i just shove them in the washing machine with some persil powder, low temp wash and no conditioner
just got some assos shorts which come with a little sample of the assos cleaner and a wash bag
so who bothers to use a delicates bag for their bibs?
is the assos cleaner really worth it at £10 a bottle, certainly left everything smelling nice after a wash - but that is probably the same effect as when my clothes are washed by someone else - my nose is used to the detergent at home so the smell of a different one seems more marked.
or would something like woolite do the same job for a fraction of the cost
what is the best supermarket detergent for cleaning bibs
