Mobile menace

there is an anti mobile and driving petition at number 10 for those who are concerned.

It's phrased appallingly.

So car drivers who aren't actually in their cars should be banned if sitting in a café on the phone?

I mean... I concur with the intent of the petition, but it appears to have been written by a five-year old who hasn't actually put across a decent argument.

When making a petition:
1) State your claim or bone of contention
2) State what you want to do about it (realistic, and from the perspective of politicians who would be the target for implementing it)

Failure to do either of those things means it's likely to be dismissed as useless incoherent rant or something that they can respond with a form-letter; "We agree it is a problem, and existing laws cover this well enough already and if you elect us we'll ask the police to enforce these laws more stringently but that's about all we can do.".

Really starting to wonder about the efficacy of these, there must be one a week at least that I get sent.

So its safer to drink and drive then to use a mobile phone, hmmm

i signed it cos i think that the dangers associated with driving are made worse if the driver is trying to use a phone as well.

There should be a blanket ban including muppets who cycle freehand while on the mobile with the other free hand tucked in the pocket of their hoodies...

and a dog on a leash........

I've seen a guy on the bike waiting on the zebra crossing (pavement lo rider) two days ago who was pulled off the curb by his pitbull cross. Ace!

You mean, anywhere? Nah. Right now it's all about Facebook groups. It will grab the attention of the Daily Mail.

Hi, I'm new here so excuse the interjection. I didn't realise that these petitions existed. I am now going to spend hours routing out petitions that challenge issues that are dear to me. More wasting time on the net...
