-
• #5
Looks like 1 1/8th with 1" quill style stem.
Here's someone who's done a conversion with one:

It's gotta be worth something to someone. It has a working Deore LX groupset with it.
Where are all the mountain bikers? Don't they follow the n+1 rule? Crazy fools. -
• #7
I'm guessing they aren't but it's worth a shot, are the cranks shorter than 170mm?
-
• #8
This would be perfect for polo, someone must want it.
-
• #9
let me see if it works in the polo section
i'd take it if i hadn't had a bid no a 29er going. i want something for off road..
-
• #10
I'd love the crankset+bb!
-
• #11
I'd use it for nipping up to the shops, hoping nobody'd nick it
-
• #12
would make an offer but I'm on holiday at the end of the week and working every evening until then!

oh out in Planet Harefield- beyond the known zone of civilization, life is little different with Farmer Giles and Pikies all mixed up together.
A bike stolen recently was recovered without fuss by Bill, and brought back to the owner on the plod car on a bike rack- now there's novelty for you.
Another novelty= the 40 year old woman, who really ought to know better at that age, who rode it up to the village and went into the Co-op and left it unlocked outside, and had a surprise, surprise when she came outside.
Now I did tell her to use the Spar shop, its a much better class of thief further down the road........

I'm pretty sure they'll be standard 175s
-
• #16
I love the bike but can't really justify buying another MTB. What price are you looking for to tempt folk?
-
• #17
Max is winning with £2. But there's gotta be at least £50 for the groupset bits and £30 for wheels. The Singleator is hardly used and they're about £20..
If I don't get any offers I like the sound of this week it'll go on ebay.

The Resurrection.
It's a Medium (suits around 5' 10"/180cm riders). Steel 4130 cro-mo main tubes.
I've hung onto this for years, not riding it but not wanting to get rid of it for sentimental reasons. I've ridden biketrials, raced against Cadel Evans in the 2003 SS Worlds, used it in Enduro mtb races, spent 4 months touring Europe, couriered in London, snapped it, left it at Witcomb for 18 months, got it back, rebuilt dodgy bodged ss conversion, left it under the bed.
It's gotta go. The fork is bent, there's loads of scratches and probably other damage, the headset is pretty fucked (I think I have a new spare I've never fitted). I'll throw in the rest of the Deore LX stuff that I removed from it - front der. rear der. spare tyre, spare tubes, cassette, shifters and stuff so you could build it up geared again.
It also comes with a not-much-use Gussett ss conversion kit and a Surly Singleator.
It's open to offers since it's such a mashup I know not what it should sell for.
Sad to see it go but it's better off being USED by someone else rather than being stored by me. Polio bike? Cheap geared/ss commuter? Gift for your enemy?
