Do a price check and get everything on price-match from Evans... Quids in... And do it all yourself, easy job...

Charge Plug stem are I think 110mm in length, if that any help.
and it's much easier to put them together, it always seemed harder than it is, and shop will charge you a considerable amount for doing it.
it's also a good oppourity to decided whether you want the stem to be a bit shorter (if you find the reach to be too far), or longer (if you find the reach to be too close).

well if I didn't have to deal with cables and levers, I'd do it. That stuff I have no idea what to do

Sounds like an opportunist theft, just undid the stem bolt and took the whole lot off. When you get your new parts set up, you can superglue a ball bearing into the allen key bolt hole on the stem, Which makes it alot more time consuming and fiddly to nick.
If you wanted to avoid bike shop charges I'm sure someone here would offer to set up your brakes for beer possibly?

I've just taken stem, bars and levers off my standard plug. PM me if you'd like to buy them.
(I can fit them all as well, if you need).

Hi
A response above quite rightly suggests this is a good opportunity to decide what length stem you want. I currently have a large frame Charge Plug and want a shorter stem than the 110 it comes with - 90 ideally.
Somewhat surprisingly I cannot find any oversize stem in silver for a 25.4mm handlebar anywhere.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

That's probably because an oversized stem will fit 31.8mm diameter bars, hence the term "oversized".

Sorry I meant threadless stem not oversize. Must have been the drugs.

I have the stem and the bars from a Plug Racer available

Thanks...what size is it though? I am after a 90 or 100mm one.

whatever one comes with the Plug racer! I'd say 100mm

Many thanks but I've got that one - I am after shorter one. (see my original email above).

get an oversize stem and shim it?

He mistook 'oversize' as 'threadless'.
houmous, keep looking at the classified section for cheap 90mm stem, best to get the cheap one so you can see if you want it a bit shorter or longer.

The exact same thing has happened to me - can anyone help with replacement parts? PM if so.
Hi,
Very sad to report that my CPlug has been burglarised - someone took off with the handlebars, having cut off the cables. Nothing else taken - pretty weird stuff.
Now I have to buy all the parts to get the bike back in working order. I found a few on Wiggle, was wondering if anybody here can verify whether these are right and where I can find other parts.
As I understand I need to buy:
I have found 3 out of 5 some parts on Wiggle.co.uk. Unfortunately I don't know what stem and brakes to purchase. Are there risers as well?
Charge Slice Handlebar Silver 25.4mm Clamp £17.99
Tektro RL720 Series Brake Levers RL726 26.0mm £20.69
Charge U-Bend Bar Tape Brown £6.29
Does anyone know how much a shop should charge to put this all together?
Thanks a lot,
--Vic
