  • Get with the times Parker...

The stock levels on the website are all lies, and the polite phonecall/email (2 days later) to inform you the item isn't in stock doesn't make up for it. Everyone else has live real time stock levels...

The service is crap as well, order on thursday and send on monday, after paying for 1st class mail, when others post for free...

CRC, Probikekit send 1st class immediately the day after you order...

Companies like Parker will die with this shitty slow service they provide... Goodbye Parker, one less customer...

    /rant over

  • Never had any problems with Parker tbh, always had things next day or 2 days latest

  • They're really slowly shipping, same experience before.

  • The only issue I've ever had with Parker was regarding some bars that I ordered which failed to materialise and required me chasing a week and a half later to eventually be informed that neither they nor the distributor had any stock. Parker rectified this by providing me with different bars and ignoring the, not inconsiderable, difference in price.

Being totally honest, they're one of my go to shops.

  • Only ever bought the Evo Mini from them because their price is unbeatable. That was when the postal strikes were on and it never turned up. I phoned them up and they sent one out asap. Had a tracking number on both parcels!

  • I have a short attention span, so when my goods turned up, i'd forgotten why i'd ordered what i'd ordered. Two and a half weeks, literally.

  • Ribble is just as bad. Everyone else seems to be great though. CRC and Wiggle especially. Although I really like ordering from Hubjub and Velosolo for the handwritten comments on the invoice and the real, person-person customer service. It's one step away from going in to a bike shop for a return.

  • +1 for Velosolo. So many times now I've bought things from it while drunk and used the wrong address and they reply my emails asking to change it very promptly. The hand written notes are just the icing on the cake.

  • I quite often find what I want on Parker, then buy it from Cycle Surgery for the same price after showing them it's 'in stock' on the website.

  • Hmm, I'm looking at buying this lock from Parker International as it's at least £20 cheaper than everywhere else but I'm a bit worried by the fact that it's so much cheaper - I thought wiggle & CRC were substantially bigger so how come they don't have such low prices?

Basically I'm wondering if PI are a bit dodgey or are they just very generous with their discounts?

  • nothing dodgy about them, either buy it online or go to evans or cyclsesurgery and they will pricematch it.

  • Parker just takes too long.
There are some items I can't find on Wiggle or SJS, but so what, if I have to wait two days before they process the order and find out, that the item is not in stock. Takes ages to have the item delivered...

Fuck it, I like my tingz to be next day at my doorstep.

  • Thanks Re-cycled. Bit strange that real shops would price match the internet but I'll give it a go.

  • I have used Parkers consistantly for about 4 years now, the only time they did the "out of stock after order placed" thing was over a Sun rear light. Other then that they have been ace.

  • I only use Parker for price matching to be honest, but feel I should defend dibble, they've always been brilliant with whatever I've ordered.

  • parker, crc and wiggle get most of my online business

or they tend to be the sites i quote when asking for price match at evans and cyclesurgery

  • Android phone + Google barcode scanning app + Shopping search = bargains on impulse shopping in Evans + Cyclesurgery

  • Parker International
30 orders in the last 7 years, no problems.

They aren't as technically advanced as Wiggle and CRC, but they obviously carry a lot of stock because I've never had to wait for anything.

  • I like Parker's free recorded delivery. I'm usually hesitant in using Wiggle now as they use CityLink which are a pain in the arsehole for me. I'd love a CRC loyalty discount though - 53 orders in 3 years...The postman loves me.

  • If we're going to complain about shops choosing shit carriers, Ribble's insistence on using Porcel Farce has to be the most annoying.

  • Parker: never going to use them again, absolute piss take.

  • Why, Rob?

  • I seem to remember him receiving a 2nd hand hub, sold as new.

  • 10 orders in 3 years.

They did send me the wrong lock once (rather than phone and tell me it was out of stock). I had to send it back and get reimbursed for the postage. A hassle.

I still go to them because they have roadie stuff cheap. I don't like the CRC website. Big pictures and no decent description. Perhaps that appeals to the mtb crowd.

  • Yep.
Then ignored my email after I sent it back. My guess is they've gone quiet because they don't actually have a new one to send me (which should have been done and dusted by now) Going through paypal dispute to get a refund so I can buy one from an honest shop.

Of course, if a new one turns up tomorrow I will retract some of this though I seriously doubt it.

If your going to try and take the piss, don't do it to someone who works in the sport.
