  • i left some notes on the statue this morning in case anyone else was getting drenched for it..

  • aww

  • i lose my temptation to go and tag it every time i look out of the window.

  • know what? yas is right. i will go for this. fingers crossed we'll meet there and can double up

  • Personally I don't think you should ask if anyone else is going. The whole point of the game is to beat other players to the tag and move the game forwards.

I like the surprise of clicking on the thread to see the old tag gone and a new one put up. I don't want around waiting for a "dibs'd" tag to be done.

    Nice touch.

  • they read: DAS, UTFS, and WAC.

  • +1 whatok repped for kindness

  • Did you attach the note using the Tynan method?

  • Ok, so I asked, but then didn't get chance to re-check the forum before leaving work anyway - so I still went out with the "fear" that someone had picked up the tag in the meantime...

I didn't see any notes unfortunately, but it has been a wet and windy day. Much better pic of the sculpture can be see here: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/17/Traffic_Light_Tree.jpg

And as for the new tag, well you could say we're going round in circles:

i had to utfs and it was gross.

  • Remember to tell us where the tag was that you found.

  • ^last one was a very famous roundabout in Canary Wharf :)

  • oh well that's bike tag!

rather hoping to meet you there 'Stew but wasn't to be :)

  • That thing is so stupid. I did a work experience placement in the building behind, writing press releases that were rejected for cookery books.

    Good times.

  • ^^ aw

  • New tag: I can't believe that no one has done this one yet. But I checked the map and maps don't lie. I'll give you a clue if you really need it, but loads of you should know where this is.

These fun-lovin' go-getters used to be in the middle of a roundabout. This is how they appear on streetview.

ah that's where I've seen them. they removed the roundabout and made a normal junction. not sure where they moved this trio to.

Local art critic, O Schick, asked the council to remove the sculpture and roundabout. So the council took out the roundabout but forgot to trash the sculpture.

Ha, we certainly didn't ask them to trash the sculpture. The plan was always to move it to the side of the junction, where, as it's a 'flat', almost two-dimensional sculpture, I think it works far better, anyway, than it did in the centre of the roundabout. It's now on the only side of the junction where there's no medium-term prospect of restoring some active frontage, and it still points the way to the market. The junction used to have an important role as the focal point of a local centre (with a pub and post office), and more active frontage will be essential to that. We're very pleased that this scheme has been done.

There's some work left to do in the area on the east-west rat-running which has led some people to consider the new priority arrangements to be somewhat dicey (north-south priority at first wasn't well-respected by the east-west rat-runners; I think the situation has settled down a little, but no reason not to further calm the local area).

Anyway, great tag again--I like the new one, too. Just keep it distinctive!

    Excellent !
Seemed quite difficult at first, but managed to locate it with google's help :)
So far from me again though, it's frustrating !

  • but that's a good thing, if you like cycling ;)

  • any clues?

  • oh well that's bike tag!

rather hoping to meet you there 'Stew but wasn't to be :)

    Go you.

  • Because flickr is shit, and I've got nothing better to do:

    OLD:

    NEW:

  • well, yes I knew the old one, but not sure where the new one is. any clues?

  • Because flickr is shit, and I've got nothing better to do:

    OLD:

    NEW:

Thanks for that - I'm still too retarded to work out how to embed images in my posts...

The clue for the new location is "It could be said that we're going round in circles" (oh, and it's a little muddy to get to the tag - this is a practical tip, rather than a clue)

  • Went to cycle around and check locations where I thought that tag might be. I failed.

  • Dimitri, it's a beautiful day outside, so at least that was a win!

I spend some time trying to guess too, no luck. But i haven't moved anywhere while trying.
