So is this a venue change from Bicycle Magic and why?
-
• #3
I was going to come to this as it was centralish. Are there going to be any Rolla events in North London?
-
• #4
This is a venue change, yes.
Due to short notice it was the only suitable venue with the capacity we need, over 200 people at the last one!

There is something on this friday on clerkenwell road that a mate was telling me about. Vague I know, but something is better than nothing. Google.

Can you suggest any venues with large capacity that will let us have a night for free?
-

I was going to bring a number of people with me , given that it was just around the corner from my office. SE London is another matter. Not sure that even MrsO will venture that far south.

Or you could just look at "upcoming events" on the Rollapaluza website!?

What a bunch of moaning minnies - HH is a leisurely 20 min ride from central London. For the lazy a direct train service from Victoria takes just 9 minutes with trains leaving every 15 minutes.

Andy, I cannot ride at the moment and don't do public transport. It takes up to an hour to drive there.

Thank you Andy!
It's not been an easy task sorting out venues and sponsors for this league, we wanted to have an even spread around london, but it's not always so simple. so two events central and two south.
Some people drive from Brighton to participate, London is pretty small when you have 700c wheels or an Oyster card.

There's also a train from London Bridge to North Dulwich (14 mins) every 10 mins, which is just a 4/5 minute walk from the Half Moon.

It wasn't aimed at you Clive, you've an excuse. :-)
That said, get over your public transport issue, jump on the Victoria Line and you could be at the Half Moon in a little over 30 minutes after leaving your palatial N1 residence.

All the coolest cats on this forum live in Herne Hill.
The Prince Regent is in Herne Hill.
The track is in Herne Hill.
Rollapaluza is based in Herne Hill.
Herne Hill rules.

RPM, I have just discovered that Rollapaluza does not have a Wikipedia entry. Something to get young JC to correct. I was about to amend the entry to make it clear that Rollapaluza, despite its north London origins, has become a south London orientated organisation ;o)

FACT.Technically the track is in Dulwich, and Rollapaluza is an East London Club, but the rest is 100% truth :)

Rollapaluza is a GLOBAL organisation.
The registered company office may be north london, the storage facility and workshop may be south london, the club may be registered in the eastern region, but we are all over the world.
Space is, as yet, not an area where Rollapaluza are active.

Herne Hill is a South London village near Brixton..... some of you northerners are such a bunch of fairies. Whether those North London fairies are the two who have said anything about the change of venue is not something I'm going to elucidate on.
The Prince Regent is in Herne Hill.
A track is in Herne Hill.
Rollapaluza drops of some of its equipment off in Herne Hill.
Because I have recently discovered some kind of social life is going on there, as well as recently discovering I have quite enjoyed the couple of times I've ridden round Herne Hill - along with the fact I rarely stray north of the river due to my lazy parochial potterings, which are more suited to a Rector in a Jane Austen novel - meaning I have no real inkling of just how vibrant the more well-known areas of London really can be - Herne Hill in my opinion rules..... see ya'll next wednesday.
few typos there hoopsy, sorted them out for you.

Just got back from Bicycle Magic, they seem to think it's still there.
Perhaps they should be told? -

ha... look at that...Phil getting all touchy for a change....
I've lived in and around Brixton for four years, so i wouldn't really call it "recent".
and if you mean the track when you say "rding round Herne Hill". i go there pretty much every weekend during season. and i wear lycra, not white jeans.. even though white jeans are pretty damn cool.... Ask Rob, he's laughed, shouted, and even given me some really good advice every now and then.so cheers for that Phil.... but i think theres an argument going on somwhere about why lo-pro's are ridden for their practicallity around town, that requires your attention.

oopsy daisy mr hoops.. i do wonder why the few people who level the "touchy" label at me seem to be the ones who can't seem to take the slightest bit of piss-taking.. don't think i take everything so seriously, it's a bit precious and shows you don't get me. anyway, so happy for you down in the south east, what with your lycra and all. I mean I only lived on Rymer Street for a couple of years back in the late 90s, drinking at the Regent and hanging out in Brixton - so I can only imagine how exciting and different the place must be now that you've allied yourself to it.. oh and here's a winky for the cross man ;)
see you at the Half Moon in a week's time, if it isn't pissing the fuck down like it is tonight...
