what for? price range?
i dont think you can really beat on-one's or formula to mavic open sports unless going for goldtec/phil wood/royce/da to open pro's

For a fixed build to be used on Londons lovely potholed roads, so need to be tough enough to withstand this, price £200 max-and this is pushing it

Been running them for about a year, bearings all good, never gone out of true, except when a spoke snapped. Been ridden for about 3000 miles on the road, in all weather. Hit some holes and bumps quite hard and no issues. -

Here look at these

would either of these be any good?

from experience round ones work best...

Yes. I would go for the cheaper ones as can't see why the more expensive ones would be any better?

zenith hubs = forumla, systemex, blb etc etc.
i currently use zenith to open sport, built but yours truely. only problems are front has a dent and is slighty out of true as i rode over/into a rather large pothole.
you can get all the components for these from www.cyclebasket.com for ~£90 then ask broken_777 to build them for you, don't know how much he charges per wheel, will prob be a lil more expensive than the ebay ones but probably better quality build, which is important.

forget all the otp wheels.
there will be much better, and cheaper

Cranks, so why are the Open Sport on Ambrosio hubs in your example worth £72 more than the Open Sport on Zenith hubs from eBay seller?
Or do you actually use buttons as currency where the difference wouldn't matter so much?

I have a set of Campag Records on Mavic Rims for £200; take a look in the classifieds
-

planet x on open pros.
or pre built ambrosio fixed wheels, they fooking good, I've commuted on them every day for nearly 3 years now, and they are coming up for retirement, but with some TLC im sure they'd be fine.
don't know what they cost now but they were £180 including a cog lockring and fitting from condor in 2007.

Why you asking me that question? Maybe the ebay seller has lots to clear? I don't know - ask them!
I posted the velodrama site as a suggestion for wheels to look at, as requested by Betty. Thats what this forum is for.

I am asking you because you posted to a site which is overpriced so I was asking why you would suggest that, what makes them better?
Nothing makes them better which is why is was a poor sugestion.

At the moment looking at - Halo Aerotrack rear double fixed (£79.99), Dia Compe Gran Compe 60th aniversary track wheels (£195 for the pair), Charge dish wheelset (£150ish), and after looking at a previous thread looking at the Cane Creek Volos but really dont think Im going to be able to afford these!!!
