Mystery Flats!

Mate has a crazy situation going on, he keeps getting flats, been through 6 in 2 weeks and put new tires on. Thing is, he is getting the flats after he fixes them.

I asked if he checked the rims and tires before fitting again and he said yes, but the odd thing is, they are fine, then about 6 or 7 hours later, there will be an audible pheeet and fast deflation!

Has he definitely got rim tape? I know someone who had this exact problem because in his excitement to ride his new wheels, he forgot to put some rim tape on.

stop pissing about with his tyres
he probably won't be seeing the funny side any more ;-)

alternatively

check rim tape
check for sharp bits along the rim that might be puncturing
some types of tyres have very soft side walls and if underinflated can get pinch flats very easily

yeah, I said I think it's his rim tape, made that mistake myself once!!!

Also told him to stop parking it next to the dart board...
