If you are in West London, we can help (bike whisperer) or I can bring a key to West drinks. If you're anywhere else, I suggest your LBS with whom you have cultivated a good relationship.

Just file an edge off on a standard allen key.

@tynan: Don't actually have a drill... but yeah, that seems easiest. I was wondering if that was avoidable - I guess not.
You bastard, all men must have drills, what happens when the zombies come for us - are you just going to talk them out of the attack ?
If the bolt is proud (ie: it's not recessed) get a junior hacksaw (£3-£4) and cut a slot through the centre of the bolt's head - then use a flathead screwdriver to unscrew.

I have no drills but I do have one of those 5 sided allen keys. Lets hope its enough to beat off those zombies.

Beating zombies off will distract them for a few minutes, but it won't stop them.

Believe they are called penta keys and I also have a set

• #14
couldn't you just use mole grips to get it off?

if this is still a problem, pop in to any cycle surgery and ask one of the shop floor staff to go into the workshop and get you a pentagonal allen key tool.
They come with these 'security skewers' that we sell, almost all shops will have a little plastic box with about 4,000 of them in. You may even have a choice of colours.

Dayum, this is what I need. I've seemingly lost the key, and my front wheel has a flat. Pain in the arse!
Anyone in Stokie/East London have one I could borrow?
Went to take the seatpost out of a beater frame I've had for a while, and its got a fucking 5 sided allen key bolt.
Does anyone have any clue if the tools for these are available, or even better, they have one lying around? It looked about 5 or 6mm... I'm still in shock, I've never seen such a thing
