one of my lecturers (a cyclist) was saying how one of his friends video's all his commutes for this reason, has had no need to use it yet.

The hard part is image stabilisation and light/aperture/metering. It's easy to get images/video captured, much harder to have them good enough to be usable. If you spend below £100 I'll be impressed if you get great quality out of it and a decent amount of recording time.

Video using the AEE MINI DV (MD80) video camera[/ame]those ones seem alright for £12, enough to establish whos right or wrong in an accident
*ha I was just thinking, what if you are stopped by the cops for something - how do you think they would react when you say I am recording our conversation with two cameras..

There is a huge thread about them on bike radar
general consensus is they are ok

Jeebus that video was slightly more interesting than filming a commute...looked like they were skiing in the desert though...

Can we club together and get a pair of these for DJ? I reckon after a month or so we'd have enough footage for a TV special fronted by Alastair Stewart we could easily sell to Sky.

I can recommed this one as its got a preview screen which helps setting up the view angle;
http://www.actioncameras.co.uk/X170
£200Just took it snowboarding too and it survived some pretty good smack downs.
The head seems to absorb a lot of the movement and vibration so that footage doesn't come out too all over the place. Would recommed head mount rather than handlebars for good footage.

these just arrived, not bad for the money, they also stamp the footage with date and time.
So, I'm looking at head cameras... some people on here must have one, what do you have, how much was it, and would you recommend it?
Thanks :)
