Dodgy emails to/from lfgss

has anyone else recieved dodgy emails, spamy-porn emails via LFGSS?

Can you open the headers? Perhaps it isn't the lfgss.com domain at all?

thing is....my gmail address is my 'business' address, if you like, the address i only use for 'good' things.

i dunno how, through the lfgss google group, only i get a dodgy email?!?!

Here's the culprit. Don't report the lfgss.com domain, as you will loose the PMs from here in your junk bin. Anyway, the above account probably was hacked as well (some kinda worm)...

As I'm a hardware guy and don't know much about the rest, you should report it to the admin. Perhaps there's some kind of [strike]voulnerability /strike which can explore members email addresses?

The forum is pretty well protected, no email addresses are ever exposed. The whole reason why you have to come back on here to reply to a PM rather than just hit reply is because of how well things are protected.

However, nothing stops someone else from spoofing our domain in spam. Email isn't a verifiable thing, unless you read the headers you can't definitely say where it came from. And that's what appears to have happened here, someone has spoofed our domain in the headers.

It might actually be you that someone has a virus. Viruses do well with stuff like this, reading the address book and using the names and domains of emails in the address book to send spam from/to. This way it all looks more authentic.

It's all those Windozze people who are polluting our blood with viruses and worms :-)
