  • Yes, it's a little off topic, but we all need sustenance and the last marmalade thread seemed to be quite popular, so here I have to offer you my homemade marmalade made by my own hands.

I'm quite proud of the wee critters in their chintzy polka-dot jars, and the contents are the real deal too. Paddington would be proud. Each batch & jar is individually numbered for those of you into collector's items.

LFGSS special: £2 per jar, or 3 jars for £5.

Put your name on a list here, or send me a PM.

Collection available from my flat (conveniently situated just off the hipster highway of Old Street) or alternatively specify your location and I can visit weekly drinks for your deliveries.

NB I also have some rather delectably piquant chilli jelly shortly to arrive. BDW your piccalilli requests have been noted too...

Making this made me happy. If only the success of a cottage industry didn't require you not to have to pay rent on said cottage, I'd be at it full time!

  • put me down for a jar! MOC loves his marmalade! Pick up from Souths?

    They look AWESOME!

  • :) thanking you, they are just a little bit awesome, aren't they? (I'm a proud mother to these cuties)

    Your name is DOWN!

  • I'll take a jar. Looks yummy.

And what lovely handwriting you have.

  • lovely, whereabouts suits you?

  • Do you make any other jams/preserves stelle?

  • How many do you have? Out of interest.

  • Do you make any other jams/preserves stelle?

there's the imminent chilli jelly, which I think is amazing and would happily eat with anything. I do preserve some other stuff but it's not really viable in big batches at the moment. Will also be experimenting with piccallili (crazy english stuff) for Wayne...and jams when the fruit is in season!

  • How many do you have? Out of interest.

roughly 50-60 jars for now. Can make more if there's demand.

  • Cool.. I'd be up for some red/black/blue jam type stuff if you get some done. Diggin' the labels. :)

  • My Mom makes a mean marmalade and having helped and watched from a tiny wee thing up until now I have to say, Well done!!! They look ace ;D! I will have 3 for a fiver off you, the wick will be awash with tasty marms...

She uses little gingham 'hats' on hers, love the spotty lids.

homemade jams and preserves always taste soo much better than machine made, it's got to be the effort/zen/karma thing.

  • I'd definitely be well up for future offerings too, we're going to make some jam this summer if we can.

    Lovely!

  • Ok, for my ease, let's have a list...

    Name
Collection venue (name your drinks, RPLZ 3rd Feb, or collection at my flat Old Street)

  • Strange request - but could you give a price for six jars packaged and shipped to Glasgow please?

  • Ah, you just missed a delivery slot! My lovely friend may was visiting and could have taken you some back. Let me get a price for postage and I'll get back to ya.

  • i love how confused the sjs cycles banner is with this thread, it has absolutely nothing that is either relevant or contains word similar to "marmalade".

back on topic i would love some chilli jelly, perhaps 2 jars, awesome stuff.

as good as your marmalade is, can it beat the 8 year old stuff we found in the back of my mums cupboard? phwoar, vintage excellence.

also do you make this in your flat? how do you stand it? as much as i love marmalade the smell of it cooking is like murder, used to clear our house for hours when my mum made batches.
