Hope Pro2s use sealed cartridge bearings which are non adjustable. You'll need to replace them if you have play in them. I think theyre 6804RS which are quite common and should be available from any bearing suppliers for a few GN each.
Peace

so the whole bearing cartridge is worn, you reckon
replacement is the best optionhave seen you tube videos of the replacing of cartridges
seems like a heavy hammer ( jeremt clarkson style ) is the right tool
-
• #4
On this note - do you need the Hope tool to fit the new bearing?

bump
can anyone confirm the bearing type for hope hubs ? sks ref. no ? -

looking for a nice pair of hubs for my jump bike currently
should i look any where else apart from the hope pro 2 evo ?
is there any kind of single speed rear hub that i don't need a conversion kit to run single speed with ? looks like the hopes have a section onto which the 9 speed block will sit ?
are there any hubs where this is removed ? -
• #11
and is the rear a symetrical build or will it need dishing ?
looks to me like dishing but am not 100% sure. -
• #12
Hope trials singlespeed hubs, awesome. No need for a conversion, come with spacers so you can sort out spacing, plus lovely click click sounds.
-
• #13
trials hub rather than pro 2's then ? thats what i was hopeing for ( excuse the pun ) let me check them out and they would be symetrical on the lacing front so i could do it myself
-
• #14
they still look to have the freewheel / ratchety thing on the end ?
-
• #15
The Pro 2Evo come in both trials and single speed setup plus gears, trials jut has more engagement points, something like 120, so either really. Think they are symmetrical build too...,
-
• #16
so some form of conversion kit will be required ? they don't work like the freewheel side of a fixed / free track hub ? the freewheel mechanism is built into the hub
-
• #17
Yeah but on the single speed it's only really short, just allows you enough space to adjust chain line with the provided spacers. Think it's the same width as the disk brake mount so symmetrical build.

Yeah there freehub is built into the hub like a normal hub, doesn't need a screw on freewheel like a BMx type hub, just need a splined single speed gear of the appropriate teeth number and away you go, no conversion kit required.

right have spacers and cog from a hope pro 2 at home i converted to single speed
i'm sure those'll worknow for the rims ?? probably mavic not sure of which one yet
not too keen on the tubeless type tyres so something traditional but bombproof needed !
any suggestions -

check these brands for hubs and will you have a front brake?
Halo, NS bikes, Superstar components, Atomlab and dmr, just to name some from the top of my head.
If your not running a front brake, a hub without a mount will be a bit stronger

cheers seb
i am aware of these makes and will do a bit of research but as i have a few hope hubs at home i thought it might be easier to keep with the same brand for exchangability / spares etc -

I like the DMR revolver on my polo bike, just stick a nice freewheel on it, I can recommend the token one I've got, or get a WI one for a few quid more

Just did an axel conversion on a Hope a Pro 2. I can't get the freehub body back on as apparently I need the Hope freehub seal tool. It's a push and twist on the freehub body to seat the seal.
Has anyone done this without the tool? The seal is 44mm in diameter and the tool needs to sit on it exactly.
Meh. -

Meh.You mean the rubber seal around the freehub. Normally you go around it with your thumbs to make it sit nicely in the slot... you don't need a tool for that

does anyone know where to get the original hope pro 2 hubs nos
it seems like evos are the only ones available these days
Does anyone know how I can adjust the bearing on a Hope Pro 2 hub. The front wheel is everso loose and it seems like the wheel bearings are slightly loose. There are no cone nuts to adjust ?
What do I do ?
