Head badge fitting

  • I had my old Holdsworth resprayed a while back and the head badge had been stuck back on with a very sticky black pad. it was perfectly secure but stood of the head tube by 2-3mm which didn't look right.
Can anyone tell me the best way to fit it back..?

    Ta...

  • degrease frame and badge;roughen paintwork with emery (area covered by badge obviously) then Araldite on should do it

  • Glue..? Really..

  • was it riveted before?

  • Yes little rivets..

  • I think I'll try Vas Finishes in Hither Green...Donut gave him a glowing report..

    Thanks Andy.W

must be a quality frame.are both pop rivet holes undamaged.

  • Well its an old Roberts built holdsworth...Its nice yes...A few of the old fella's at the old Witcombs were very interested in it..

Yes little rivet holes are undamaged..

  • My '52 Claud Butler had a rivetted badge.
I tapped the tube holes M2 and used M2 stainless button head screws (very short to clear steerer tube) and threadlock.
    Looks neat.
