Probably to get around the forum censors? After being on here is its easy to forget what other forums are like in terms of moderation. Journalists (in this case I use the term loosely) can spell you know, it being part of their job..
And yes, Rod Liddle is a complete tool.

The majority of noncecases are generally white, if a black fella told me that I wouldn't get all "Ooooh, that's racist", I'd agree with him as it's true

Not quite, G, Trident was set up to deal with black on black crime. At the time (I'm not sure if it's still the case) young, black males were most likely to be the victims of crime in London - so it was determined a different approach was required, in part, due to significant mistrust of the Met amongst London's black communities, especially young people.
If you look for it, you will find plenty of examples of fatal shootings and stabbings by white kids, but I doubt they get reported in the same way. I think it's about perception and I think it is irresponsible of Liddle or anyone else to make the statement without at least a basic grasp of the statistics and an appreciation of the reason for them.
Oh, and I blame the Gary Glitter effect.

Exactly, Trident was set up to deal with 'black on black' crime as they are often the victims aswell as perpertrators(sp?). Is there an organisation that deals with white on white gang crime? (Actually, there probably is in Liverpool - the troubles in Liverpool are predomintantly by white kids)
Look at all the troubled areas in the UK where there are gang issues - Moss Side, areas of London, Handforth etc, all black kids in gangs.*gets back to his Daily Mail
