voidcore, where do you get cheap Deep Vs wheelset?? please
-
• #8
i think voidcore does the lacing himself saving the £25 labour charge for lacing the rims to the hubs
-
• #9
i got 2 non-machined rims from BLB last year for £30 each labour up here is £15 i used on-one hubs (same as formula) they are £15 per hub front or rear
-
• #10
blb sell deep v rims now for £41. you forgot to mention spokes?
£41 (rim)+15 (on-one hub)+ £15 (spokes)+ £15lacing labour (up there)= £86min (£172min for a wheelset) -
• #11
Voidcore: on-one hubs are not the same as formula. The quality of manufacture is noticeably lower.
If you were to get these from BLB new they would cost £234. (although that would be with blk HT spokes as Blk DT are known to break if laced with a cross).
Joao24: your price is very fair. But its not the best time of year to be selling. Hold out.

no fair enough im not trying to out do anyone here mine came to £160 for both actually i ended up using miche primato hubs still basic sealed bearing hubs, on-one or formula are all made in the same factory anyway or so i was told, so my point was anyone could build up a pretty identical set but new and in the colours they wanted for less or a similar price

the guy that sold you the on-one hubs would like to think its all made in the same factory. i do agree that you can make a similar looking-version for less but your loosing the quality.
origionally you said you "used on-one hubs", now you say "miche p". orionally you said "way over priced" now "less or similar). let stop changing our mind and get on with the sale.
conclusion. wheel/set it good price. +(come with extras)

sorry for the confusion,
I bought on-one hubs, they were in my bag when it got stolen, then bought miche hubs
i have a set of formulas on another wheel set so i know what they are like in what way is the quality better?i said way over priced you agreed and reduced the price, hence why i am now saying similar price
that ok for you?

The quality of the drillings, cut outs, bearings (if I remember correctly) and most obviously the cones on the On-One are different too and worse than Formula. Its possible they are made in the same factory, but that doesn't have anything to do with it. Surly / IRO / BLB and many other frames are all made in the same factory. It doesn't make them the same. The easiest way to make the distinction between the two sets of hub is at trade price. Formula hubs trade (from Formula) is around 2/3rds the price of the on-one hub. On-one are not going to sell hubs at £4.50ish profit, so the trade must be sub £7. Probably around £6, maybe even less. As far as I am aware even on the biggest orders Formula hubs don't come that cheap. Thus they are cheaper hubs, which ties in with the poor quality of most of the aspects of the hub outlined above.
Miche, miche miche miche. I don't like miche, both for the logical reasons that will follow, and for illogical reasons that I can't really explain. The quality or grade of aluminium used in lots of their products is cheap. Really cheap. The lockring is the best example. Fucking shit. But also the bolts and the axels on miche hubs are pretty piss-poor. Don't believe the bearings or hub-body are problematic though. Cones I am told are the same as the nuts et al, but haven't seen a problem with them, so will hold back on that one.
