Hey,
A friend has picked up an old 6-speed pug and needs a wheelset.
Rear spacing looks like 123-126mm or so. Didn't have callipers when I had a look, so its a bit of a guess.
Looking for something half decent. Ideal is decent campag/shimano on some mavics.
Budget is around £40 depending on quality/condition.
Let me know what you've got.
Cheers.
Would it be less than £40 for this notional pair of wheels were they less than pristine?

Cheers - I'm guessing 7 speed cassette might be a bit wide - need to confirm rear spacing.

Are you suggesting that my request for a pair of NOS vintage record hubs laced to a pair of limited ed mavic's for under £40 is unrealistic? ;)
TBH I was thinking of something like the campag tipo/ma40's on Hilary's thread or these from the 'bay
...do you have something suitable?
The main things are; they fit, aren't a pile of shit and *serviceable *- brake wear, truing, re-packing grease, etc. is fine.

I've got a pair of MA3's on shimamo RSX hubs with stainless DT spokes. Not been used since they were regreased.
quite modern though innit

Hmm. If he's happy enough with modern, got some no-name cassette hubs on Rigidas, never actually been ridden. I mean, a 6-speed Pug, got to be a steel frame, it'll either spring to 130 quite happily or cold set easily enough.

126mm will take 130 or 135 easily if reset

It's very likely 126, pretty sure 120 was only 5 speed so 7 speed will fit fine.
