  • I have a bunch I regularly catch, but maybe you lot can turn me on to some other good ones. Here's a little slice of my regular listening/watching.

Adam and Joe's 6Music podcast - really funny, but I hear they may be taking a break soon.
Alive in Baghdad - interesting docu-reports from Iraqi journalists.
The Bike Podcast (Guardian) - does what it says on the tin.
The Bike Podcast (Resonance FM) - also does what it says on the tin.
This American Life - really, really interesting magazine show with some amazing segments. Every show has a theme, with three or four reports.
New Yorker: Fiction - A guest author reads a piece of work from his or her favourite author, with a bit of chat too.
Friday Night Comedy from Radio 4 - great stuff, and you don't have to tune in at a specific time.
TEDTalks - lectures from some of the world's most fascinating scientists/politicians/researchers/campaigners, anyone who is working on a fascinating project likely to change our lives.

    Any more for any more?

  • StonesThrow - any.
(I was just thinking, like half an hour ago, about where to post the podcast I´m listening now* : ) )

    *52: Secondhand Sureshots - Mixed by J.Rocc

  • Solid Steel. the f..........g bomb!

  • Not very cool, but I like the Kermode film reviews

  • Nice. I'm signing up for all these. Broaden my horizons, and all that. Actually used to listen to Solid Steel, not sure why I stopped. Feed doesn't seem to be working right now though.

  • Great thread idea.
    +1 for Adam and Joe.
I also quite like the Tom Robinson introducing from six music. Can be a bit hit and miss, but some interesting things that I invariably decide I will look up / listen to more of then promptly forget.

I haven't listened to it, but the blurb from this Monday includes:
'The only band to write a 'bohemian opera' about cycling, The Grave Architects, rode by to chat with Tom about their new single...'

  • I really quite like the In Our Time podcast, always interesting and informative on an unbelievably wide range of subjects.

And there you were, thinking I was some kind of hipster or something.

  • nuknow +1000 to the stones throw podcasts. Such good range of stuff.

Also, Diplo/mad decent podcasts are real good.

Anyone got any good video podcast suggestions?

  • Also, Mr Phipson and the Bob Dylan theme time radio hour are awesome.

  • In addition to what has been said (everyone should listen to This American Life):

The Moth (if you like This American Life...)
    Planet Money (npr)
    Quirks and Quarks (cbc)
    In Our Time (bbc)
    Thinking Allowed (bbc)
    Oxford dictionary of biographies

  • football weekly, guardian again, sid lowe's spanish football coverage is nice and concise, and the rest are a bunch jokers. barry glendening's analogies on underperforming ballers are hilarious.

  • Fact mixes (not podcasts but the same idea)
    http://www.factmag.com/category/mixes/
    XLR8R
    http://www.xlr8r.com/podcast

  • ^ Yeah fact mixes are wicked reliable.

Don't know if it's been said before but Electronic Explorations is excellent, and Get Darker plays the more nasty side of dubstep with a really well produced shows if you like that sort of thing.

  • I mainly listen to the Richard Herring and Andrew Collins one, its called 'Herrin and Collings' or some other mispelt combo of their names. Very funny.
The best ever was the Penn Jilette of penn & teller, that was some awesome stuff. Awesome guests and discussing science and magic and strippers and debunking religion and stuff. I was gutted when it finished.

  • Getting all these, ta.

  • DJ Dub Cowboy's Reggae Jamdown

  • Fact mixes (not podcasts but the same idea)
    http://www.factmag.com/category/mixes/
    XLR8R

    I love these!

    Other (mostly dubstep(ish)) podcasts:
    -Electronic Explorations (said before)
    -Hold Box Flat
    -Resident Advisory
    -Sonic Router
