  • Offering Koga-Miyata RecordPro 'rolling chassis'

Package deal for frame, fork, some tech and wheels, hence rolling chassis.

The 1988 Koga RecordPro was an advanced bike in its time. It came equipped with full Dura-Ace 7400, 2 disc wheels and space age cockpit. View last pic in this post for built bike. With all this heavy artillery the battleship costed 13K in guilders in '88. The guilder is a currency from ancient times, but to give you an idea: For the same money you could have bought yourself a VW Polo or a couple nice Colnagos. That is also part of the reason why it is as rare as it is.

    The frame
Brazed without lugs using triple butted Hardtlite FM-1 'Spiral Spline' tubing from Miyata's own(!) tubing mill. The tubing has (internal) spiral shaped reinforcements at the ends. The frame is very well made. It has quality dropouts and the connections towards the tubing are neatly done. The frame has the fastback type of seatstays that connect directly to the binderbolt housing. Brakecable through toptube. Frame is partially chromed.

    Features

    • Miyata Hardtlite FM-1, Spiral Spline tubing
    • brazed without lugs
    • frame takes a 650 front wheel and a 700c rear wheel (included)
    • rearbrake cable through toptube
    • partially chromed
    • galvanized, 7 step coat
    • Shimano dropouts and shiftcable guides on top bb shell
    • race number fitting

I have been told this particular frame belonged to Marcel Duijn and has been raced to the Dutch National TT Title in the under 23 category. I can not confirm this personally.

    Condition
There are cosmetic imperfection in the paint, with what I mean that it is a used frame and that you will find scratches and chips. Two specific issues worth mentioning: At a certain point the shifter braze on is moved from on top the downtube to the sides. The partial repaint that was done there is not performed very well. No proper surface preperation done, so some surface rust grabbed its chance there. Nothing severe, but you will have to take care of it: Clean, surface preperation (base coat), paint. Secondly, there is rust present under the chrome on the fork blades. Only lower part. Not very well visible, but in case it bothers you, it leaves you one option: Rechroming. Or repainting, if you can do without chrome. Structurally the frame is 100% sound.

    Comes with

    • Dura Ace headset, repacked, buttersmooth
    • seatbinder bolt
    • Dura Ace fronthub radially laced to Wolber 650 rim
    • Dura Ace rearhub laced to Rigida DP18 rim

  • Dimensions?

  • If someone needs those (tubular) Wolber discs, I may have the address.
For sure for the 26" front wheel...

  • I missed out on the Gazelle that Dicki was selling, still quite want the most foolish pub bike in London's famous London.

I think tublular disc wheels would achive that.

  • Dimensions?

    Good question

    Seattube: 58cm C-T
    Toptube: 560mm

  • Interesting.

I ride the 58cm on this table- how appropriate a fit would you say the Koga would be?

  • Please,someoe take this frame!!
I am broke but I can't rexist too long....
    I love koga!!

  • If Zieleman says that it will fit me then I'll probably take it.

  • Then work out where to put it.

  • That frame is preposterous, Dammit.

    Buy it.

  • It would be my Christmas present to myself, IF it fits.

  • pm'd

  • come on dammit don't miss out on a second one, you know you need a bike to ride drunk back from the pub on ... this would be perfect

this looks nicer and rarer than mine !

  • I think M-X may have just grabbed it from under my nose.

I would have confirmed my dibs if Zieleman had told me that it would fit.

    Bugger.

  • Sorry, Mel !

  • Would you be ok to act as a go between Dutch Cheese? My Dutch is not brilliant.

  • That one is even nicer ^^

  • Needs discs for that ultimate pub bike look, handy that it comes as a complete bike mind you.

  • That's a valid point. Good luck with it anyway. My Dad's picking up a geared lo-pro for me this week, very excited. No discs though either, so might only use it for general riding.

  • The one under the link is a slightly newer welded aluminum one.

    @ Dammit
I am about your size, but I ride away on pretty much everyting. I am confident 58 is the right size for you.

  • How would we arrange shipping?

  • Dammit,

Shipping is included in the price. I am in a big cleaning overhere and you maybe have seen me more frame (and rolling chassis) selling. Like with all my frames it will be packed in foam central heating isolation tubing and everything goes into a study bike box. So far I heard nobody complaining about something not arriving in good order.

  • What speed cassette is the rear hub designed for?

  • 8 speed HyperGlide ....but UG will fit too of course, for if you ever wanted to use UG

  • And (important question this, and one I had forgotton to ask) are the rims for tubular tyres?
