absolutely brilliant video of a run on Fort William by a world Champion downhill rider allegedly. any one know who ?
The skill to do it at that speed whilst talking !
    Not for the faint hearted.

  • Some of the rocky sections and switchbacks are nuts...
Would love to try and ride that...
Any idea roughly how fast he was going?

  • no idea, but he looks like he's flying for what the terrain is...

i bet if i were to do the same run on the same bike it would feel too fast at half the speed he's was going at it.. did you notice the amount of riders he passed ? :)

  • I had a go down that bastard on a xc bouncer. Absolute terror for the full 23 minutes it took to get down including 2 stops to try to knock some feeling back into my hands and forearms.

  • That is Greg Minaar. I like the way he thanks the marshals whilst launching a huge jump down towards the bottom of the course. Wicked vid.

    Yeah that sounds about right!
    That course looks epic...

  • I like the way he casually adjusts his goggles while hurtling across a section of north shore. Class.

  • "a nice section of bridge to have a break"??

goes off to buy DH bike

i'd forgotten how much fun rough stuff was / looks when done by professionals. I wouldn't even be the one waiting at the side, i'd be the one being airlifted off for a sprained toe, or something equally embarassing...

  • ^Don't get too excited, this -below- is the common currency for MTB rides in England.

It's six to ten inches of mud, it's uphill, it's cold, it's not where you want a flat.

Pic shows a mate on our last of 2009 club ride Sunday, 20 of us went out, and surprisingly, 20 of us got back.
And yep, that bike is standing up on its own.

  • Ha, looks familiar. Even that s preferable to picadilly circus. I'm moving to Paris in two weeks, so I'm a bit more optimistic abou offroading for the future.

  • That is immense! how he can talk his way through the run is a good indication of his talent.

  • Awesome. I want a go.

  • Does anyone remember a video that was posted on here a while back; mountain biking, amazing professional lighting, slo-mo shots of tires spinning on gravel, really incredibly well put-together?

  • Bored this winter...try mini DH. :)

I was going to say all the padding seems overkill but then it seems they spend half their time sliding along the floor holding onto the bars!

  • that is greg minaar its easy to tell because of his south african accent its ovious
