Not trying to ruin your sale here but it's worth to mention that this is not a f/2.8 on all focal lengths. It's f/2.8-4.
More information on this model here:

no worries - the more info the better really - all I know is that I've no use for it...

They're going for roughly £100 on eBay, yours is a good price and I'm sure you'll shift it. Perhaps worth to post it on a photography forum.
You wouldn't have a Nikkor 28mm f/2.8 by any chance? :-)

i have a faulty nikkor macro 120mm 2.8? but it only works in autofocus (dropped on a shoot years ago) was going to claim on insurance as it cost 1300quid originally but never got round to it... it's just gathering dust now, worth anything to anyone?

I'll check but when I looked the glass looked pretty immaculate. I'll see if I can get my brother to drop a Nikon body around at the weekend...

will this work with a full format sensor? (therefore 35mm film?)

I don't know much about Nikon film cameras (other than I used an F5 for a while - a real tank of a camera) but it's for Nikon D mounts - don't think it matters about FX / DX mount and an initial google search seems to suggest people are using it on D700's without issue.
http://dpanswers.com/lenses_uwaz.html seems to point to it using all the sensor unlike some DX specific lenses which'd only use the center of the sensor (ie. 5MP images from a D700).

The Sigma 17-35mm f/2.8-4 EX DG HSM is a full frame lens - good for full frame sensors and 35mm.

How much would you want to part with it?

Sorry - forgot to stick it in my bag this morning so it's still at home (just as well mind as I came a right cropper on some black ice and it'd have been bounced around on the tarmac had it been in the bag)
I'm about on Thursday if you're interested? Winston's coming by the office to have a look but he's not sure it'll work with his camera so he might not want it...
(that M&S is just round the corner from me, like 2 minutes walk).
Right, well I've got this lens sat at home - boxed with full paperwork, case, hood etc- I think it's hardly been used but I've no way of testing it (I've a Canon DSLR) so no idea whether or not it works so don't want to just sell it untried.
If someone fancies bringing a Nikon to the office (EC2A) for a play (and it works!) they can have it for £85.
(Failing that I guess I shouldn't be lazy and ought to borrow a Nikon from my brother to test it)
