I have looked into this travel and accomodation wise... Assuming we leave on Dec 31st am. www.eurotunnel.com has space for a car with bikes on the roof. £141 return. The tricky bit is the return, they only have return travel available on the Sunday the 3rd if we travel before 10am so we'd have to be up and left by 5.30am to get back to Calais on time.
Accomodation for the 31st to the 3rd is available at www.Hotels.nl/Haarlem/JoopsHotel/.
Cost would be approx £110 euros each for the duration. They have two double rooms left at present. (Lee would have to share with me!!)We need to move fast if we are going to book this.
Word.

im down for this little adventure but i can not offer any transport but i dont mind giving driving a go !! x

i too am down, but we will need a big estate with a roof rack or van not powered by jew-burning incinerators like mine, as we would end up paying loadsa money. also up for driving taking the burden off. how much to hire a van to do the trip failing a roof rack enabled derv estate? if we're totally stuck we could take mine, and get a rack for it.

Any takers for this trip? I have just checked Stena Line ferries to the hook of Holland. We can get car with bikes over inc 5 people for £149 approx. Could take 2 vehicles? The hotel in Haarlem also has more space available too (enough for 8 at the moment). Perhaps the interested parties could meet for a beer somewhere with wireless internet and we could book everything when everyone is present and get it all ORGANISED? Let me know.

Eddie. Most likely planning on leaving New Years Eve (Thurs) and coming back on 3rd Jan (Sunday) or possibly Monday depending on what people want to do? As far as cost goes, I guess we'd split the ferry crossing equally and accommodation is up to you but rooms in the hotel in Haarlem are approx 300 euros for the 3 nights for a twin/double room (about £150 each). I reckon it'd cost you about £200-£250 for ferry and accommodation plus money for food and beer etc... Will.
