Adobe Bridge help needed, i'v deleted my cache

  • While searching for other stuff about how to get bridge working better i came across a video that detailed why you should delete your bridge cache and how to do it.

So i did and now i have no thumbnails or access to my photos in Bridge.

The video said that the cache just took up lots of room and didn't really do much so i went through mac>library>caches>adobe>bridge cs3>data>bridgestore then found FileSystem_Blobs.MYI and binned it as the video instructed. Then like an utter chump emptied my wastebasket so it's gone.

Going through Time machine i can't seem to get it back because the cache folder in library isn't there.

The files are all still on my harddrive and can be accessed in Finder but they dont show up in Bridge.

The folders do but when i open the folder there's nothing.

Please someone help me get the thumbnails/access through bridge reinstated.

  • is there a 'rebuild database' option?
i'm so glad i rely on just having folders of each job with raws/processed/finals in .
i'm on a couple of photography mailing lists and most problems involve lightroom/bridge and stuff going missing.

maybe sign up to prodig.org and ask there or some photo geek forum

  • I managed to find 'build and export cache' but it took all night n seemed to do bugger all.
I'v now deinstalled and reinstalled which has solved that problem but now my nef files aren't being automatically converted to dngs when i download them.
