Car registration details?

Hi,

A while back someone posted a website where you could find basic details about a vehicle from is registration plate. My friend would like the link. Anyone got it?

If you have the reg and make for a vehicle is it possible to find out the name and address of the registered keeper?

Unfortunately, it's not that straight forward for obvious reasons.
For full name and address details of the current registered keeper you need to apply to DVLA in writing (using the correct form), explaining exactly why you need this information. You cannot obtain the info simply because someone cut you up or caused you an accident unless you have some kind of proof/legal back up. In that case the police should already be involved and they would, or should, have done this for their own information by now anyway.

I have to do this fairly regularly for my employer (local authority) when people dump their cars on their land. I don't think it's any different for a private individual but I stand to be corrected.
