Can't help with the parts but I think that the rims would be Rigida Sputniks.
They are cheap at Spa cycles and dead good. -

Actually i am a spammer, i've been randomly posting the same combination of words across this open internet forum. My post had no relation to this thread other than being in it.

Hey Cameron its Josh,
that link from otto is just the rim i was talking about, you can can your spokes there aswell. Plain Gauge are strong and cheap, but if your willing to splash the cash, get Sapim Strong's - the ultimate polo spoke! -

Cheers Josh. Thanks for the spoke advice.
Still need a wheel or failing that, borrow a massive cog and play fixed. (Never played fixed before though)
-
• #10
why dont you borrow a normal geared wheel
-
• #11
you're too logical rik, shut up.

The cog should change their name to the session musicians they change their line up so often, is this the 7th cog? Maybe they should be the cassette?
-

Unlike polonium, who are an official team.
Just a pity that it is not a Polo team...

cameron - if you can't get to Riks i've got a spare rear wheel with a 20t freewheel on it that you can pick up from Putney

I feel cheapened.
Wanted: 700c Rear Polo Wheel with a freehub body.
Either a shitty one for cheap or a quality one that'll last a while.
Someone rode over mine last weekend providing a not unpleasant sinking feeling but now my wheel is beyond fucked and I'm playing some league games on Thursday.
I bought a 20t BMX freewheel to fit to a fixed wheel with a flip-flop hub but the threads are incompatible which I sort of thought would be the case. Are there threaded shims or converters available, or some way to put a freewheel on a fixed hub that doesn't cost a bomb? (Is White Industries the only way?)
I know there's been talk of this stuff on the forum before but I can't locate it.
Also Josh was talking about a cheap quality rim for about £19 but I can't remember what it was, where it was from or what his forum name is.
As well as the wheel, some 'singlespeed' spacers for a freehub body and a basic chain tensioner would be good.
Prompt payment in cash money / beers / however.
Ta, Cameron.
