For Sale: Frame, handlebars, S/S kit

  • So now i have my new build on the road i need to get rid of the old bits kicking around...

£50 - Raleigh frame, 1976, originally a gents tourer "connoisseur" but stripped of all pannier racks and run as a S/S for the past 4 months by me. Comes with forks. Could do with rubbing down and spraying (currently has been rattle canned red).

*EDIT - should also say that the crankset & chainring is also included - cottered cranks with the original 46T chainring on.

£10 - NOS type drop handlebars approx 1" fitment into stem.

£10 - S/S conversion kit for Shimano Freehub, consists of various spacers and 16T cog. SOLD TO B'JAMMIN

£20 - 700C rear wheel. Q/R. With blue striped Michelin tyre. Shallow black "vee" (its not really a vee but it's not a plain rim either), machined for brake, silver spokes. SOLD TO B'JAMMIN

  • any pics? might have to put a dib on the rear wheel, condition and pictures pending.

  • this frame is useless without sizes

Can get some pics tonight mate, the tyre is like new (only ever been run on a front wheel and had it as a spare). Also the wheel is in very good condition.

  • this frame is useless without sizes

The frame is large, somewhere in the region of 59-61cm but i can measure for sure tonight.

Has a 1" threaded headset with a short length quill stem.

Forks take a standard 100mm front hub.

Rear drops are those almost horizontal ones found on older Raleighs, not true track dropouts but not vertical either - there's a pic on sheldons site of the type i mean. They are approx 130mm and ran the 700C Q/R wheel for the past 4 months.

  • I'll take frame and bars subject to pics and more details - and 2nds on wheel please

Noted, pics will be up tomorrow morning...

*EDIT - in fact here is a pic of the complete bike i was running, frame, handlebars and rear wheel can be seen, but i'll take some more specific ones when i get in tonight...

  • 3rd dibs on wheel ta.

  • I'm out on the frame I'm afraid - leapt to the conclusion it had rack eyes earlier. Apologies.

Still interested in bars and wheel though

  • Mighty, mighty interested in the s/s conversion kit if it's still available - it'd be the last piece of a puzzle so to speak.

It does have rack eyes... both on the chain stays and the forks if that's what you mean...?

  • Bars rear wheel and S/S kit sold.

    Frame still up for grabs...

  • Hi, am new to the site so can't pm at the moment. Am potentially interested in the frame, am i able to come and see it some time this weekend?

No, I'd think of them as mudguard eyes I guess. I saw 'tourer' and 'panniers' in the original post and leapt to the conclusion it would have top mounting eyes, near the top of the seatstays.
