  • His new tour started in Aberdeen last night. My flatmate went to see it, he got free tickets because he sold eddie's pal a bike (jammy git!) Anyway by all accounts it was a really good show. Jo said he was on top form ramblingness and he'd reccomend it to anyone. The funny thing is the Evening Standard were there and intervied / photographed him and his mate. His names Jo (joseph marshall), he used to work in putney cycles and I know he would be fucking made up if somebody could keep an eye out / save a copy for him.

    Cheers

  • Dude, I co run the comedy at Snafu - we spoke to him, he was so close to agreeing to come down on Tues (night before the AECC gig) - damn I could have shared the stage with him.

    Same thing happened (weirdly) with Morgan Spurlock a couple of months ago....

  • God how helpful is everyone??? Like reading a fucking paper's hard?

    Yeh anyway eightball you probs know a lot of my mates that used to work in snafu - sarah, giles' gf, giles, aimee constance blah blah blah, gurveen, Matt etc.

    Might be riding on sun, with ben et al, weather dependant obv.

  • i fucking love eddie izzard, his rants and jibes are so compellingly funny, IMO the best current comedian there is.

  • I can't wait for his latest show, Stripped to come out on DVD.

    Me and the missus pretty much remember every line from every single DVD of his stand-up, in fact, it's his stand-up comedy that help her understand the humour in England greatly.

  • his star wars set is lush (I've been edscobled) here it is, kinda :)

  • Oh yes!, that was superb "with the power of the death star, does it not have a tray that is dry?"

    my other favourite is the room with a view of hell;

  • Don't forget the late night petrol station shopping! a form of 21st century invention that nobody expected.

    I much prefer the stand=up video than the legos, he expressed it so well in the theatre.

  • "hello , we are murderers, twix please"

    haha

  • Ed, I still haven't been able to find a clip of the Dirt is the elixir of life bit, the one where there were no questions before Aristotle?

    Man! So funny!

  • Eddie Izzard and George Carlin are the best comedians ever, fact.

  • MICK! Are you to stay in London, please?

  • I was talking to Aram tonight and he was saying you're due to come over sometime mid-December, make sure you're over by the 18th! I bugger off to Ireland then, December 17th Wests, I expect to see you there! =P

  • P.S. I'm sure it was Socrates invented questioning, not Aristotle, though I am a bit hazy on my Izzard.

  • Right, this weekend, i'm going through my Eddie Izzard boxset!

  • on the topic of comedians, the best has to be Billy Connolly followed by George Carlin, then Eddie Izzard and then Bill Hicks and then Lee Evans in no particular order,

    check this out, i suffered uncontrollable laughter watching it.

    Ok, willdo! Must remember the 17th, must remember the 17th, must remember the 17th. But then you'll be back after winter hols, right?

  • Billy Connelly is brilliant, really enjoyed his ramble about being old (when they're showing his world tour thingy on television).

    one thing I really hate about stand-up comedy is that they very rarely have subtitle on their DVD, there is a very few amount of comedian whose DVD contain subtitle, Eddie Izzard very luckily is one of them, Bill Hick, Billy Connelly, Lee Evans, George Carlin, etc. don't even included subtitle.

    really a drag because I enjoyed stand-up comedy the most, and I can't exactly go to a gigs because there's no fucking way I can understand them easily, I am genuinely missing out half of the best comedian due to the simple lack of subtitle.

    the other one is Ross Noble. he's not up there with Eddie but still very good, the best thing about him is that he genuinely interactive with the audience, especially the wolf and peter's big burly cock (can't tell if that the right part of the dvd that mention this);

    edited = I just notice his entire Fizzy Logic stand up is on youtube, go on, enjoy yourself, it's worth watching.

    that may help in finding quotes, thankyewverymuch!

    YouTube- Lee Evans Trio

    Lee Evans is pretty turgid to watch, not even close to Eddie

    Of course ^_^ I'm back on the 7th, made sure to be back for the bridges ride on the 9th =P

  • I got tickets to see him play in London in December, which i'm really happy about.

    And i saw him on new oxford street a while ago - really wanted to say hello, but couldn't pluck up the courage.
