I'm trying to create a A0 cinema poster from an HD video
A0 is 1189mm high in portrait orientation. HD video is 1080 pixels high. Do the math, as they say: 1080px spread over 1189mm is 23dpi. Bear in mind also that a screen grab from video may be shite to varying degrees compared with a 1920x1080 still image, depending on how lossy the video codec is and exactly which frame you grab.
This is what happens when you resample a 1920x1080 image to the resolution required to print the image 1189mm high at 300dpi

Do the units, it's 23 ppi. dpi is a measure of output device resolution, not a property of an image. Here it would be the density of dots of ink. Which is highly dependent on the print process and independent of image data resolution.

Are you saying you should or shouldn't resample?

That's the one! It's how I get my kicks!
We expect a very, VERY full report.

What I say doesn't matter; as you suggest, there's going to be resampling in the print process anyway. I was just illustrating how much of an enlargement is involved, something which you can get away with in video (e.g. displaying HD on a 40" screen) because the eye is fooled by motion and fills in the blanks. On a still image, especially one already full of compression artefacts as a screen grab from a video stream will be, it's harder to get away with.

No, not as far as I’m aware anyway. Think it’s due to being out in the rain a fair bit

It'll be interesting to see which of the three judges takes the lead. It's right up Lewison's street, but I can imagine Arden being pretty involved as well. It's a good bench for that case at any rate.

I’ve replaced the batteries on these but not the circuit.
If you want to have a go with a multimeter then you need to drive the internals out using a drift.
Take the screw cap off the rear, then use a socket to apply pressure to the lense cover. Get it right and the internals and battery will slide out of the back of the metal case.
You can get the batteries from amazon.

You can take ibuprofen and paracetamol at the same time without issue if that might help.

seems i should be taking ibuprof. accord to googles

Ibuprofen can reduce the rate of healing.
Tumeric has anti-inflamatory effects but doesn't reduce the sate of healing. Apparently ginger helps too.

so were talking then about a full bottle of vodka, roofers, a good curry and and someone called Ginger?
i should have a back spasm more often :) -

how do i get rid....
The doctor suggested ibuprofen + paracetamol + diazepam + physio + continue normal activity. Of these, physio seemed the most beneficial, and aerobic exercise even better. It was agony getting onto the rollers, but pretty easy getting off them and the effect lasted for several hours. I'm guessing that had something to do with endorphins.

And bloodflow.

Probably that too.

• #88394
i think Ginger will help with that ;)
-
• #88395
Thanks, will give it a go

...its stopped spasaming when i breath now -- so thats good -- thats with 400mg of ibuprofen since 8am and 1000mg of paracetamol since 6am, vodka will have to wait until i get home - as will Ginger, work doesnt appreciate that type of visitor - at least not until your director level - even though its a medical reason to increase bloodflow. roofers mean i've done more work in the past 2 hours that i have ever done in my career ;) curry for lunch!

Haven't really been into our garden shed over winter but went in to discover some rats (probably about 400,000 of them by the state of it) have made it their home. Apart from covering it with petrol and lighting a match, what are my options. It's a real fucking mess in there and I'd like to use it in the spring. How do I do this and not get Weil's.

Actually, fuck it. It really is that bad. I'm just going to burn it down and get a new one.

Remember to close your back door before setting fire - They'll look to migrate somewhere else pronto.

Dig a pit in your garden 100ft deep and hammer a trail of frozen sausages into your lawn leading from the shed to the pit and chuck some in the bottom for good measure. Coat the sides of the pit in goosefat so there's no chance of escape. Catch the rats in the pit then either fill it in, lower a cat on a rope or drop a gallon of petrol and a match
Thanks @chez_jay
I mean DPI. I'm trying to create a A0 cinema poster from an HD video.
My designer mentioned getting a better quality monitor in order to produce a higher res image (?!) at which point my head exploded and I came here.
