• Offering Vitus Duralinox 979 frameset

    Features:

    • full aluminum, bonded
    • anodized tubing
    • brake cable through toptube routing
    • very light
    • Seattube 53cm c-c
    • Toptube 540mm
    • English thread BB-shell

    Comes with:

    • Stronglight needle bearing headset in great shape
    • hard to find 25.0 seatpost
    • seatpost binder bolt

Condition: It is a used frame. Looks great from a distance, but up close several marks can be spotted. Structurally 100% sound. See pics to form your own opinion.
The frame has Colnago decals on down- and seattube and there is also a Buckler sticker present near the shiftbosses. I do not have an explanation for this. Frame is said to be ridden by famous rider, but the woman I got it from had no idea who actually.

Offering cool early to mid 70s Batavus Professional frameset

The Professional, the contender of the Gazelle Champion Mondial in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Way rarer, in particularly examples like this early one. Handmade in Holland.

    Features:

    • Reynolds 531 tubing
    • Bocama longpoint lugs
    • chrome fork and rear
    • ORANGE
    • Seattube 61cm c-t
    • Toptube 580mm
    • Shimano 600 headset

Condition: Beware! You buy a used frame. Looking for mint, look elsewhere. You have an appreciation for patina, than this could be your new love. Structurally sound frame, absolutely. The patina is in the finish. The paint is though, but underrust is visible under coat on in particularly toptube and downtube. Chrome could need a polishing.

No matter what the condition is, it is still an unique early Batavus Professional. In my view with this frame you can buy a great all weather or works bike. Keep it a bit greasy is my advise and it will bring you to everywhere for many years to come.

  • Love theVitusyou've got there Zieleman, if I was a bit shorter I'd be all over this.
I've seen it build up geared, on a German website. Very nice frame and a very nice price I have to say.
Batavus is good value for money as well BTW.

  • Original equipment on the Vitus was Mavic Zap electronic shifting. I took the Zap off from this for me way to small frame and the Zap will replace the DA7402 on one of my two Panasonic PR-6000 roadies. The Zap is very cool. Predates the Dura-Ace electronic shifting with more than 1.5 decade, but I must admit that unlike a couple pro cyclocrossers with their battery powered DA, I do need feel the urgent need to hang the Zap on my SwissCross.

  • Tempted by the Batavus...

  • Batavus looks good for the money but forks are not original and are cheapo replacements but if you can source a decent pair of 531's it could be a decent project

  • You could be right on the forks. Below page shows an early 70s Professional for the US market. It could have other specs or be of another year, but what you're saying sounds plausible. Anyway, can't help with a forks, could only consider a little off.

  • Oh man, mavic zap!! Does it still work? Did it EVER work? :P

I used to have the forks on this shoved up the nose of a beautiful philips track frame, which thankfully someone bought and resurrected with original forks.

  • I'd just like to say my bro has a Vitus 979 bike and its a joy to ride.

  • Oh man, mavic zap!! Does it still work? Did it EVER work? :P

Actually on the Vitus it did work quite well. When I got the bike the battery was empty, so I had to wait a couple of days before the shop opened and I could test it. It was some kind of holidays. It felt like a century. When shops opened I found the battery I needed at a photoshop. It is a quite costly battery that some cameras use. Back home I immediately installed and found out that it worked flawlessly! Phoe..

  • Pm'd about the Vitus Z.

  • Not exactly. You sent me a Visitor Message. And I replied already. I will reserve the Vitus for you untill early November. No probs.

  • oops. Sorry. Still getting my head round the interface. If that's ok with you, mail me your details and I'll make a gentlemanly deposit tomorrow.

  • and thanks!

  • The frames look very good, but i can`t help but chuckle when a Vitus bike is mentioned.. If you chaps only knew what it means in Estonian...

  • both frames are lovely..
