If you never want a puncture again use the specialized armadillo kevlar things. They don't roll too well but they never puncture

Its just a winter commuting tyre. it needs to be 20 wet grim miles a day proof! just for winter... then i can go back to skinny saucy tyres in the summer.

once you hit up the bontragers you won't need to go back to the skinny saucy ones

i got a speciliazed all conditions armadillo thing recently. it's the hardest tyre i've ever used, i'd recommend them for puncture resistance. go see lewis at rayment, he'll sort you out with some.

Are you using a track pump to get correct pressure? This will eliminate a lot of punctures

Hi James, yep using a joe blow track pump- I think my PSI was a little high at 120 so i have backed off - The tyres im running are Conti Duraskin and Gator skin - which I believed to be quite hardcore... according to the above thread.. are as I though rubbish
Just picked out a 2mm shard of glass that caused the latest rip...

carry your bike!

Rubbing my hands on the tires while riding, and especially after going thru patches of rocks or glass, works for me.
This helps to dislodge sharp items before they have a chance to cause damage.
Very few punctures this year and my bikes have tubulars or Veloflex clinchers.

pinch puncture = user error
Seriously guys I’m on my 5th puncture of the month.
This is getting proper tiresome (excuse the pun) I have checked the tyre, the rims for any burrs and sharp edges, the rim tape looks a bit stretched but seems to
Be functioning correctly. Does Slime or any puncture prevention gel work? Are there any selfsealing tubes that really work?
I’ve had punctures from bits of sea shells nails a bit of iron girder and a pinch puncture
I need a break here!
