Sizing a low Profile frame - will i fit?

Posted on
  • Hi all,

I ride a straight forward road bike, i'm tall 6ft4/5ish.

    my current bike measures

seat tube centre to top 62cm
    tope tube 59cm

There is a low pro i'm looking at that is similar in style to this one...

The frame I am looking at is 61cm 56cm, is there any chance that this is big enough?

  • how do you feel on your current top tube?
if 56cm is the top tube of the new frame, it will be too small for you by a long way.
basically with lo pro's you can almost ignore the ST (within reason) and go solely on the TT.

    hope that helps.

  • so its 3cm top tube shorter than your current bike, but you are much more hunched over to get down to the handlebars... so its a further reach essentially - hence why the top tube is shorter. - Usually used with pursuit bars or bullhorns to really strech out on.

I think the seat tube length is the important measurement (which looks to be correct for you) - the reach can be tinkered with, with different stems and bars.

in other words, i think it sounds about right.

  • the diagonal line down to the headset from the saddle is longer than on a non-low-pro, ie/ c2=a2+b2

  • Stop being such a fucking hipster. Lo pros are meant for racing at high speed on, not mincing around London's famous London's streets.

  • haha, since when has anyone bothered about lo-pros being the correct size? even if they are, people put riser bars on them for bars by the knees clown effect.

Correction andyp: lo pros were meant for racing at high speed on. Before they became obsolete.

    Couldn't agree more tbh.

When I went into Brick Lane Bikes and they said 'have you ever considered a lo pro' they might as well have said 'your father sucks cocks at a reasonable rate'.

It's true, I've heard BLB charge extortionate rates to suck cocks, and in addition they do it with bad grace, refusing to take their false teeth out and charging an extra 50p to swallow.

  • Yes willies hipsters etc

I want the bike geared for long rides like London to Brighton

I'm just worried about being miles away from the bars once I've added the seatpost height

  • You are kidding right? Why don't you just buy a proper road bike?

That's just not true. Some people build them properly, not many granted.

can we cut a deal here and say lo pros are now meant for mincing around London's famous London streets at high speed?
