I went through there at approx 08.00, the tent was gone but the forensics were still wandering around.
There was a large amount of blood all over the pavement on the North side of the road, no bikes or any other forms of transport in evidence at that point.
The traffic jams announcement service said that there had been an accident involving a lorry.

I don't like the sound of that

I tried to cycle down evelyn street this morning at around 7:15 and was diverted. Didn't see anything apart from it was swarming with cops and forensics.

I came past at close to 0830. Had to walk past on the pavement. Blue tent was on the north side, forensics taking pictures with markers on the road, one major blood stain was 30 yards or so before the tent.
Made me feel awful.
Hoping that it isn't as bad as it looks.

Could conceivably be a shooting. Either way, doesn't sound good.

Oh dear.

here's hoping for good news.

Google cache of various traffic reports from this morning state "lorry involved"

Went past at about 6.50 and there were 2 ambulances + paramedic and 2 police vehicles on the scene. The victim must have been in the ambulance as there was no sign of anyone on the ground. The only other vehicle was a parked motorbike on the opposite side of the road, I'm guessing someone who stopped after the incident. The road was fully open at that point and I suspect the ambulance that passed me on Blackheath Hill was one of those at the scene.
I came past again around midday and the road was fully open aside from a police car parked by the blood stain which was still taped off. Presumably the tent was over this earlier? -

Don't think so- other people seem to say that the tent was closer to the junction, whilst the blood stain was on the pavement well away from any other road?
Randyfreddo said that the blood stain was 30 yards distant from the tent?

Missed that detail in RF's post. Odd though as the tent went up after you had passed which was well over an hour after the event (whatever the event may be)

Or I was terribly unobservant.
The blood splash seemed to be roughly in the centre of the taped off area, but I may well have missed something else- looks like I missed the tent after all.

from tw*tter -- beckyportsmouth: Just seen what seemed to be body bad being removed from 'incident' at evelyn st, deptford. Anyone know what happened?
apart from being unable to spell "bag", that's bad news.
there was one this morning in Deptford at the junction of Evelyn Street, Creek street, Deptford High street and watergate street
I couldn't see any cars or bikes (I assume they'd cleared that away?)
anyone know anything about it?
All I saw was the forensic types playing with the little yellow numbers at the back of the van
