  • I haven't found a thread on here for it, if there is one I would like to be directed please.
General discussions of facial hair triumphs/fails.
I'm growing my face at the minute and wouldn't mind a bit of direction/inspiration.

  • I don't even know..... is this a triumph or fail?

Was active about 24 hours ago :)

  • You're growing your face! What happened? Did the old one fall off?

    hehe

  • Seen it but not varied enough. I know growing a beard is part of being a man, but my grandad had a fucking ill moustache which one day (When my upper lip matures enough to produce a thicker covering) I will emulate.
Unfortunately moustaches are for homos, refined gentlemen, grandmothers, and hipsters at the minute. None of which I am!

  • What about the French?

  • I have been experimenting for the last few years.

The one big thing I would say is that it is very easy for you to get used to having an amazing tash but for other people it is often seen as odd and you will get some funny looks and behavior towards you.

Best experience - People coming up to you and wanting to stroke your tash (be open minded) / shaking your hand and congratulating you.

Worst experience - being pulled over by Swiss border police and having a full van search / chemical swab due to looking like a hippy (racists).

Otherwise go for it, it brings a lot to the face.

  • And continentals...cowboys.... But I don't want to emulate them.

  • Nice!
Yeah, I had a trim one whilst cycling around france this summer, did draw the funny looks a little!
Don't think I can really just get away with a tash yet, too much strong competition in London!

  • Dude. Check out tweed ride flckr set. Epic facial hair.

  • True! I was there and experienced it first hand. Met the Bonk and couldn't believe his tash was real! Asked about 5 times, then felt embarassed!

  • I recommend, the arvy , the wibble or the Dante.

  • I started to grow my beard in February 09 whilst unemployed. I still have it and I'm still unsure about it. Too much grey, but atleast it's not african sunset (sorry sunsetters).

My wife and daughter both think its great. I did think about getting rid of it, but my daughter said it would keep my chin warm in winter, I can wear a hat to keep my bald head warm.

  • Or when it gets long enough you could comb it over?
I found a couple of white ones in mine which I swiftly removed, but guess it's inevitable. Couple of gingers too (Think that's what you're referring to) but can live with them.

    You poor bastard!

    No, not the search.

African sunset = ginger, I think some people on here are sensitive the the word.

    Combover's are wrong.

  • Combovers are wrong. But if you comb over from a beard I think it does that full circle thing and becomes right.

  • I grew a moustache once...

  • Is there any way speed up the growth of facial hair or will my visage stay prepubescent indefinitely? I always eat the crusts and it's doing bugger all.

  • some people are just born with it. Or maybe it's maybelline? ®

  • My old man can grow good'un. I spose I've just gotta play the waiting game. Really don't want to get to 30 without a proper beard though.

  • i hate to break it to you, but if you get to 30 with no beard, then the beard is probably never gonna come...

You could pretend to be a woman undergoing hormone replacement to become a man, and get beefed up on testosterone injections? That'd probably encourage some growth.

Just keep shaving regularly, and don't just leave it because it's not growing any further.
Some people are unfortunate enough to have a natural baby face til they are like 30...
