Ohh dear, I certainly can't tell Velocio to UTFS can I? ;)
Jol is making the original velcro straps with no hardware it seems, there's a rather large thread on all the people who are coming out of the woodwork with them. Think he was first to market. Support your local forumenger / home-grown producer etc.

i highly suspect claims of their toughness and life length are exagerrated.

I do keep searching! I need to implement hippys search recommendation.

First publicly announced back in February before all the other pretenders ;)

Hold Fast and JOL were/are the first people to come out with decent versions of these straps.
I wouldn't buy anything else, especially not if I was relying on it as my sole braking method. -

You use foot straps as a brake? How the hell does that work?
-

Foot retention....if riding brakeless, foot retention fail = no braking ability.
Therefore I wouldn't trust anything unproven, a cheap imitation etc etc, plus I would rather give my money to the people that developed/tested said product in the first place, instead of one of the people that ripped em off ;) -

There was me imagining you just threw them into the spokes and hoped for the best.

I find short scaffolding poles are more effective in this instance, fucks your spokes but at least you look cool cos you haz brakless innit.

I dislike this whole footstrap argument. I'm going to make my own, and not sell them. And I'm going to make my own DancoPad aswel, and not sell it. Quit ripping off the big timers.

Quit being a dick.

Isn't Australia about 8000 miles away these days?
Just saying. -

suggestions that people shouldn't make/buy any others except for the "original's" reeks of market monopolisation, resulting in less innovation and a higher price for the consumer. and is a bit childish.

In my defence, I am childish, I'm sat here playing pokemon for Christ's sake. Plus, I'm not saying don't make your own, cause that's fun. I'm saying let the big-time companies sell the parts, don't buy from people trying to make a quick buck.
