Rondinella [Swallow] by Vic Edwards....the toast of Romford...brilliant frames by a renowned east London frame builder......mega mega bargain......someone buy this.......the dogs bollocks and then some!

Hi leon
yes , Rondinella was Romford's other frame builder after Rory O Brien.
-
• #14
Hi...Peter.....but did Rory O'Brien make their own frames?..Definitely not towards the end...Also Sixar in Upminster.....again they bought in their frames......but Rondimella were the best.....viv Edwards left an instruction in his will...that all unfinished frames were to be completed by.......Brian Rouke of Stoke!.....I believe Rondinella were the better....discuss!

Yes, that 's true . I think some O briens are ephigraves....
If you want to know who made what in East London pop into everything cycling on Forest Road in Walthamstow, aka Stuarts bikes.
The owner , if he like you will get out his photo album of his collection of vintage bikes , all now dispersed I think, and he will also give you his opinion of East London's frame builders. There were once lots of them... -

OK...but at the price you are asking you should have a queue going twice around the block......or at least should do......these frames come up rarely...and sadly i'm skint!.....but had it been a HR Morris or Lipscombe...i would have raided the piggy bank...good luck with the sale.

There were once lots of them...Was that at one time Robin's Bikes.....if so i know who you mean...I bought a Duralinox 979 frame many years ago from him.......another one....member of LVRC [you had a race out in Cambridge last week end]...was HR Morris and then there iwas Frank Lipscome from Markhouse Road......them were the days!

Good for him.....unless he uses it as a fixed gear,,,that would not be right....or perhaps it would be.......as long as it is used and cherished...not left in a dark corner.......but Lenk....it is always the quiet ones!

hi is the Rondinella stil available? & where to pick up the frame?
RONDINELLA up for sale again - £60... now SOLD
I was collecting up some bits to do a vintage build but got impatient and bought a complete bike. Not trying to make money off this stuff, just want it out.
Koga miyata 56cm Road Speed Frame £95 - SOLD
Classic japanese/dutch road frame. No rust, very good condition. Includes Shimano 600 headset and bottom bracket; also a Sakae seatpost
Rondinella road frame (55cm?) + Cinelli bars and stem £60 - SOLD
Pretty good condition, straight, no dents. Had surface rust but this has been removed. Some scratching to the paint especially around the chain area
Reynolds 531, very light frame, nice lugs.. some info on the brand can be found on the vintage UK lightweights website.
Also comes with original Campagnolo gear shifters on down tube, Campagnolo headset and random shimano bottom bracket
would sell frame on its own for £50 and bars/stem for £10 if frame already sold
**Mavic MA-40 700C Wheelset / Campagnolo hubs £50 - SOLD **
Nice wheelset in very good condition, some wear to braking surface (but not much). Shiny Campagnolo Hubs also in very good condition (unsure of model)
Shoebox full of various vintage bits £50 - SOLD
All in fairly decent, usable condition. No idea of the specific models.
Campagnolo seat post 27.2mm
Campagnolo front/rear gear shifters
Campagnolo brake handles
Campagnolo front hub + rear Campagnolo flip-flop hub (this still has random cassette attached though..)
Weimann caliper brakes
Campagnolo quick release wheel pins
PM me if you want any of this stuff, pick up only from my place in east London
