BMX lever on drops?

I want to fit a lever on the top of my drops like on the rather gorgeous Condor Potenza http://www.condorcycles.com/potenza.html amongst many others.

My question is what levers fit? I have tried a Tektro lever and an old MX style BMX lever but neither fit the diameter of the bar.

I managed to prise open a tektro bmx lever to fit over the bars and still clamp up tight. That just saved me about £15 and despite utfs I couldn't find anyone else that has done that so thought I'd include it here ;)
