I'll keep em peeled, I've seen a couple of gangs of lads on Gt Marlborough Street lately.
Last time I made a big show of pretending I wasn't watching them so that they saw that I thought I was being surreptitious.

haha even if my post was tongue in cheek, i don't think i'd lose any marks on my insurance claim because i 'might have incited possible thieves maybe working in the w1 area on a forum'. it's still locked up really well and directly outside my work, i can't do a lot more to stop, nor encourage thieves.
as it happens though, i am an incredibly good walker.
no 'fixed' comments please. -

RhysPo- is your office window close enough to photograph the thieves if they do start stealing a bike?
As you pointed out the coppers will assign a very low priority to this, but if bikes are taken and you have decent photographs it might help get the bikes back and the thieves arrested as I would expect them to be "known" to the Police?

Had my MTB nicked from outside my house in East Dulwich Kryptoflexed to my railings, big blue van doing the rounds daily and scavaging at night. Just bought a nasty MTB from Police Auction with no seatpost or saddle, anyone got one to fit Giant Rincon? Jim

Kryptoflexed? fail.
measure the seat tube & post in classifieds to see if anyone has one in that size.

Thanks for that... I needed three replies to posts before I can ask! Jim

Does the Giant Rincon take a special size seatpost or something?

I kept eyes peeled in between meetings etc but didn't see anything.
The downside for me personally was that, having got agreement to bring my bike inside the office for the day, I then had to answer questions on why it hasn't got gears etc etc
I explained it actually had two, and you change gear by removing the rear wheel and turning it round, but for some reason, my colleagues didn't see the attraction of it.
Just looked out of my office window and spotted a couple of scrotes taking mobile snaps of bikes and locks in Hanover Square.
Sadly haven't got time to hang around for the afternoon to dispense D-Lock justice, but have tipped off the local bill (not expecting anything to happen over that though).
If your bike is currently locked up in W1, then I'd shift it asap.
