Dibs if: a) I can fit them in a large messenger bag and b) I can borrow one off a mate. Will let you know ASAP.
Just seen, too heavy :(

^ Yeah, no way would you get the lot in a large messenger bag. I guess maybe something like an Archie's Theo might work, but its a slim possibility...but the weight must be at least 15kg...

will you split? I only need the boom boom box.

^ You could buy the woofer and I'll throw in the speakers whether you want them or not...sound fair? ;-)
But I should point out that the subwoofer only has 5.1 soundcard inputs (i.e. black, green and yellow minijacks) and not the standard subwoofer input, whatever that is, cos its designed as a 5.1 system for PCs...

Dell/Altec Lansing ADA995 5.1 THX speaker system
Not sure whether anyone on here would be interested but would rather offer these at a bargain price to you lovely people than faff around elsewhere...anyway, I never used the 5.1 capabilities and I have hardly used the speakers for quite a while, but these are superb quality. Built by Altec Lansing for Dell, they came with my old PC in 2004. They're built like a brick shithouse so will last forever. Amazing for a surround sound gaming experience, but I just use my PS3 these days...they're in almost new condition too.
The caveats are that they can only really be connected to a PC soundcard for full 5.1 (they have the green black and yellow jack connectors) unless you know something about adapters etc. I don't. Of course they can be used 2.1 with any source really. Also this setup is heavy, I mean really heavy, no way would you be able to cycle with the subwoofer! So its collection only, and you'll need a car.
The good news is you can have them for £30. Tbh they're not worth a huge amount 2nd hand these days but sound quality is comparable to Logitech's £200+ offerings. They are now taking up too much room and I want rid!
Here's the specs: http://logicalplus.stores.yahoo.net/alladead651t.html
Oh and here's a link to a thread on avforums, selling a set earlier this year, for the princely sum of £55!! http://www.avforums.com/forums/speaker-subwoofer-classified-adverts/937101-sale-altec-lansing-ada995-5-1-surround-pc-multimedia-speakers-large-sub.html
PMs to arrange stuff please.
