Saw a Moda bike up close in my LBS yesterday. Quite nice bit of kit. Not in full prod as yet I'm told, so be a while before they're in wider circulation.

Has anyone ridden one of these yet?
Looks quite nice, but was wondering how it rides. UK made too, nice.

Just taken delivery of the above, so should be able to get some pics up here soon

http://www.flickr.com/photos/50083022@N03/5878396818/in/photostreamI ride this. Just rode a 700 km trip to Berlin from Denmark. It has lovely handling, is quite stiff for the price. Good alu welds and pretty and durable dropouts. I use it for trackriding as well with the bars slammed and different pedals. Fork is a bit heavy with uncut steerer.
All in all its really great value I think.White paint a greasy fingers makes u insane though.

uk designed and assembled.
"Eurobike is responsible for the design, manufacture and assembly of the range, along with its frame-making partner in Taiwan. The inspiration behind creating Moda was simply to put together a range of bicycles that the Eurobike team themselves would be more than happy to ride."

I ride a 60' and the tyre just brushes the tip of my shoe with my current cleat position on Euro size 45 shoe that is.

any more reviews/comments on the moda forte? looking to buy a new track frame (for track riding/racing) and wondering how this compares to the dolan track champ
-
• #13
Don't know how it compares to the Dolan as I've never ridden one, plus I only use mine for commuting, not on the track. But it is very responsive and handles nicely.
-

Moda has nicer welds and paintjob. Dolan should be stiffer though since it has the reinforced BB area. Otherwise they are pretty similar in geometri and features.

Any other Moda owners on here that can give their opinions? I've been looking at the fresco:
I'm wondering if this would be better than a Dolan Precursa? Do you think you get the same bang for a similar amount of buck? Cheers.

i have a 2012 moda forte. love it. rode a dolan as well but didn't really like it..
here is mine, a few changes since then, thomson elite seat post and thomson x2 stem, cut down the steering tube and changed the saddle to a fizik arione.

That's nice! Yeah I'm just trying to decide between the two because I've heard a lot of people swear by Dolans but haven't really heard much about Modas. I've basically got the choice between getting one or waiting for a Precursa to appear and getting that instead.
-
• #18
i completely ruled the dolans out when i was looking for a bike because of the slightly upward top tube
-
• #19
Yeah I'm not the biggest fan of that from an aesthetic point of view either. I'm not sure if that top tube design was introduced in later models or if I'd only seen Dolans in a larger size so it wasn't as noticeable, but either way I don't like it.

I'm digging this out for once.
Does anybody know the seatpost diameter used by the moda bikes? Want to replace my stock one on my Fresco but their datasheet says something about 31.9mm - never heard of such a diameter before... -
• #21
Just to answer this: Its 31.6mm
Anyone know much of Moda frames for riding Fixed? My LBS is getting them in in the next few weeks, would be nice to be armed and dangerous with a little knowledge b4 I'm tempted to buy owt...
