Miche 44t

  • Can anyone guide me towards a Miche 44t chainring? I need it for cyclocross and can only find a 46t?

    Thanks

  • why does it have to be miche, and what BCD - be more specific otherwise your not going to get any *useful *replys. . .

  • -.- i fucking hate that animation

  • But it is your destiny...

  • that made me laugh!

  • Ok, the reason I was looking for a Miche is that the crank is a Miche and I thought that it would be easier to get the same make. By now you've guessed that I have no idea what I'm doing.
I have been told to check the BCD so went on Sheldon's site (glad it's still running) to understand these things. I have never changed the chainring so am in the dark.

  • Don't i need the same with for the chain?

as long as your chain isn't narrower (3/32 as opposed to 1/8) than your chain ring then you will be fine.

What width is your current sprocket, chain and chainring?

fair enough, used a campagnolo chainring on my Miche before, the chainline was off by just a millmetre enough to tell the difference.

  • Is this for a double? Inner or outer?

The reason I ask being that you'll struggle to get a outer chainring smaller than a 46.

  • the chain is 1/8 and the chainring is 48t and 1/8. it's for my Pompino.

I see lots of SS bikes with chainrings seemingly smaller than 64. Or am I wrong?

  • You should have no bother getting a 44 tooth 1/8 chainring. Parker have them for a start;

  • I checked the BCD and have ordered that one above. thanks guys

  • it arrived, fitted it ok, raced it on Sunday. FUck that was tough up the field!!! thanks guys.

In case you were not aware, would be cheaper to change the rear cog/freewheel if you need to get a lower gear still. Especially as you have just splashed out on a new ring.
