I have used my normal chain breaker on my half link no probs

So I have to invest in a better one then, because I damaged two budget ones which worked ok with the regular chains (one was from a toolbox from Halfords and another an Ebay find for £3)

You do need a big one.
For example the park pocket one can't nadle anything bigger then a 3/32 or small 1/8. Things like half links or K710s don't fit. Or rather you can push the pin out, you just can't push it back in.And for heavy chains its best to use a good tool. Something like a Park professional chain breaker.

i actually had a dream about the topeak chain tool last night. they are awful, don't get them.

I have to agree with harry, the small ones can be pretty useless in getting pins back in. Plus a bigger tool is easier to handle if your hands are covered in grease.

Ok, thanks. I will just visit a bike shop to see what works better.
Ok, Half link chain... Do I need a different chain breaker? I've just snapped mine - standard one - and bent another while trying to extract a couple of links.
Is it me or my tools are crap? Or I don't have a right one?
I've searched the forum, but I've found some other related stuff.
