It's just a knock about, but whites are encouraged!
Massive racist.
I used to cycle past you guys I think until I moved house this weekend and now live next to Hackney Downs park where there is often a game of cricket of an evening on the albeit poor quality pitch. May well come down..

shame I don't live closer!
in 05, before the last ashes test, when cricket fever was high, I convinced some mates that we needed to play cricket on tooting common, started out with five of us but ended up with about 18 when all the passing locals came and joined in, there was even a bit of Indian/Sri lankan rivalry going on. It was awesome and most of the players were so much better than us that we really had to up our game. I ached like hell for a week afterwards

After the first session I ached for about 6 days... couldn't get out of bed!!
Well, we'll be playing at around 6:30ish tonight if anyone is passing by... only play until night fall - usually get about an hours play in!

Will try and make it, whereabouts do you usually play?
I'm assuming along the Green Lanes side where it's kinda flat.

Yeah, we play on the corner of church street and Green Lanes - on the Church St side - near the big tree. The ground is hard there, and less people on sunny days because of the shade from the trees.

Playing tomorrow from 3 - Clissold Park - around the corner of Green Lanes and Church St gate of the park. All welcome - any level (we are not good....)
A few of us have been playing cricket in Clissold Park for the past few Sundays and it always turns into a decent game, often two or three people walk by and ask to join in. We also play twice a week in the evenings (light permitting these days, though we do have a white ball)
Just thought I'd see if anyone fancied joining us??
We've got pads and bats, and balls etc. but feel free to bring your own. Maybe we can get a few more games in before winter descends... although tbh we've played more at the end of august/ start of september than earlier in the summer.
It's just a knock about, but whites are encouraged!
Also, me and a few others would be interested in joining a proper team - I would love to play a proper game. I think there are at least 3 weeks of cricket left!
Anyone interested??
